Gene worked on various commercials from 1965 through '68, just before he got his first important screen role opposite Zero Mostel in "The Producers" (the unwritten rule of some "struggling" actors working in New York was, "If you wanna eat, you gotta sell"). This was produced in 1967.

I love that commercial! I have it on my DVD. There is another Gene wilder v8 commercial with kids in it.

He is the greatest comic actor of all-time - and underrated. A shame he has retired from acting and only writes now - but his books are very good. What do you want to know?

I am Gene Wilder's biographer and I never knew he did the voiceover for a V8 commercial! Thanks so much for posting. Any idea when this aired? I am assuming mid to late 1960s.

Have you seen the Alka Seltzer commercial he did the voiceover for from the 1960s? It is on YouTube. Funny thing is I absolutely love V8, so it is really amazing to find out just now he did this (I, of course, think I know every single thing about him).

:D thats to cool! lol! Yes I did see that one on youtube, lol, I think I watched every video of him! lol, and every picture! V8 is ok, it's healthy for u :D You have to tell me everything, I really want to meet the guy, (still alive; did u know that? lol )
