@kbd668 ...You are not fit to comments at all. Who are you to call her retarded blind kid. I think you shld be the RETARDED and BLIND one to said so!!
@kbd668 You go and think about what you had said. Your parents will feel ashamed to have you to do such comments here. You are a disgraced to Singapore!!
@kbd668 Adelyn really speak in such accent. See the way you comment, you are not even fit to be compare to her. I bet you speak and think worst than a primary school kids
You go to SAVH in Bishan and ask the in-charge there (Ms Juwita) if there was a service learning project in 2010 doing audiobooks, under the teacher-mentor Mrs. Noorizan Albaar. If there isn't you can shake your thumb at me all you want.
they really are speaking english...almost all singaporeans are bilingual (minus the older generation) we speak english and our respective mother tongue.
this is good family-theme ads that singapore should show and encourage more of.. it reminds us d small things we take for granted. when d first time i saw this on channel 5,i unknowingly cried..Adelyn is such a bright girl and i wish her all the best :0)
Mummy, do you think the ad people are capitalising on my blindness to sell tickets for the YOG ? Mummy, is this dumb dialogue representative of girls of my age ? Mummy, is this a cheap and lousy advert ?
The girl is stunning here, definitely the star of this commerical. Unfortunately their dialogue sounds scripted and contrived. Which mother and daughter pair speak like that in Singapore?! It sounds way too formal.
At the heart of this ad is a mother who encouraged her daughter to dream despite her challenges. I think the main message behind this is if she can live her dreams, why can't you? Or why can't your children? Parents are quick to tell children they can't achieve what they want, even though they're able-bodied. Yet, this girl's mom doesn't stop her from achieving her goals, to leading a full life.
every second into this advert, i was trying to figure out 'what is ths ad trying to say?' because the starting reminded me of Golden Village's ad (where the boy was asking his dad several irritating questions like 'what is a cinema?', 'where can i find this cinema?') which i know many joked about if the dad were to say 'Google it'. hahaha, anyway i think this ad is quite clever to touch on YOG, the blind and family all at the same time.
MCYS is obviously missing the deft touch of one Yasmin Ahmad. The second Family commercial about Filial Piety and this YOG commercial are just so contrived, trying very hard to milk the moment. Stop it MCYS! You have one good commercial in 'Funeral'. Don't get indulgent with our tax payers' money please.
I know that Adelyn! We used to make audiobooks for her and her school. She's very bright a child :D

@ahmax it's English over it. so it will sound that way because it is most likely not how it was suppose to be.

@flippinup Singapores main language is English so I don't think it is dubbed. I think this is the original.

imho they shouldn't try to link two disparate things together. It's just feels too agenda based.
Props to the girl for her bravery and performance though.
