It's unfair to say that tigers 'beat' crocodiles, because there are so many different crocodiles, just as there are so many different tigers.

I think, however, that if we take the largest and meanest of each species, it's safe to say the crocodile would win. I mean...come on...a full grown salt water crocodile (largest normally 13-18 feet for an adult male) in water would probably best the tiger quite easily.
