  • webcam-mcdonalds happy meal circa 1998

  • Cool project... is it open source?

  • cool. could you play mini star fox on that?

  • yay james42519 is an idiot! 8D

  • wow lol whats next elite for the VMU?

  • Holy fuck how did you DO that?!?

  • it FUKING RULES!!

  • Damn, you should make DOOM for the VMU, it'd be really cool!

  • it's on youtube because what this guy did is quite a feat of programming on a computer that shitty.

  • is this a game console or an accesory

  • Both. It's an accessory in terms that it is a memory cart for the SEGA Dreamcast. It's a game console, because you can put a game on it (via Dreamcast) and play it standalone.

  • i dont have a dreamcast. how do i get games on it? and how do you get the shapes thing?

  • how about buy a dreamcast? this is a memory card for a dreamcast. what are you doing with a memory card without the system? buy some games and play them. some of the games have the games for the vum you can put on them and play. there are other places online that have some can get but have to look for them.

  • @james42519 Well yesterday I found a controller with VMU for $5 so I grabbed it, yet I don't have a system yet...

  • @kasm279 i hate the way youtube does stuff. what i said was in a series of replys can see by clicking on "short by thread" at top when you click on view all comments. keep looking for the dreamcast and some games. you should like it if you liked gamecube and ps2. can give links that show how the dreamcast can do better graphics then others just by the way it does them (drawing only what you can see but not what's behind other stuff off screen).you need a dreamcast to use the vmu tool blueswirl.

  • @kasm279 oh sorry this is about the 3d engine thing. not sure how you would do this but i am sure you need a dreamcast to still do it.

  • @james42519 I don't have a gamecube or PS2 (yet) but I do have an N64, PlayStation, and an Xbox. I'm expecting something a little lower than the Xbox is. I also found out about BlueSwirl, so as soon as I have a dreamcast and cables I'm set!

  • @kasm279 that's good. they can be a lot of money. still think $50 is too much for a xbox. don't worry about it you will get stuff eventually. just look at thrift stores. i have nes,(new christmas)snes,(traded a $1 yoyo for it and 4 nes games)N64,($40. little high)sega genesis/sega cd,(free with games) gamecube,(free) ps2 slim,(only one bought new $130. got 2 fat free and they work) 3 dreamcast. (no hookups and 1 controller $7.50, 2 controller and hookups, $8, 3 controllers and hookups $10)

  • @james42519 My xbox was $5, plus $5 for an AV cable and $33.13 for a new DVD drive. N64 was $40 with 7 games, PlayStation (a 7501 model) was $15 with three AV cables (one being S-Video) and a controller. Oh, I softmodded my xbox and play N64 games I don't yet have on it :D

  • the dreamcast was made in 1999 and the last ones where made in 2001 and this is just the memory card

  • when were u born

  • I have Crysis run at MAXIMUM graphics on my VMU :D

  • there's a rendering of a 3d tennis court on the vmu when u play power smash 2.

  • lol proved this guy wrong about his useing all the vmu power theory.

  • a render doesn't mean real-time 3D, like this simulates. A render is a static picture.

  • @hokman1 But that's rendered on the Dreamcast itself. In contrast, this 3D-Engine runs directly on the VMU.

  • this is awesome

  • nice work!

  • how do you put games and stuff on it because i have 1? :~)

  • i kni know this is a very late reply you need vmu unleashed first for the dreamcast

  • Nice! That's some pretty cool going there! *sigh* If only SEGA made consoles again...

  • Can I play Crysis with it ?

  • I love you too :)

  • Hahahaha can anybody run crysis?

  • Nope, I got a Core 2 Extreme and 8800GTX with Vista Ultimate, and 3 GB of RAM, and I can't get it to work.

  • I have a 4 year old dell which can play the crysis demo

  • Well, I can run it, just not at full 3D rendering. What you'd expect out of, like, a Quad Core.

  • Of course Crysis works on it, set it to 1x1 and it should run.

  • i run crysis on my Dream...CAST!!!! HAHAHA

  • what site do i go on to get this i have no clue all ikno is that my dramcast plays burnt games whats a site that i can get to make my own

  • That's amazing.

Too bad more people don't play around with the VMU.

  • well i don't know what its doin, but hay 3d shapes on a vmu is cool

  • You at least have to admit that it's the coolest memory card ever made.

  • Nice, finally a good vid relating to dreamcast.

  • How do I do this with mine?

  • wow that's cool!

  • Thats and quite interesting, good job and 5 stars!
