chemical names are a whole language

the name doesnt just tell you what the chemical is, the name tells you the structure and and formula of a chemical too.

It means a chemist who has never heard of a certain chemical could tell you what it looked like just from hearing the name.

They're designed so you don't have to memorize the names of chemicals, since they're named according to their structure. An experienced chemist can look at the structure of pretty much any chemical and name it. Take a chemistry class and you will understand.
