  • fucking brits suck ass at pilots and planes

  • @wank0r your a wank0r

  • @Ahquatic Troll? No, just someone who actually works on aircraft for a living.

  • @Ahquatic alright ... just to let you know its not the standard training aircraft, the Tucano is also used alot for training purposes

  • @Haydinho21 hawk is good though

  • Hawks if im not mistaken?

  • I've been there!

My uncle is a warrant officer at that base :)

  • Is Dai the Spy still an honourary member of the Mess?

  • jamanation

Its called karma ! The forces no longer protect us . they fight for the greed of the nation and America .

    ali akaba!

  • @karmachasescathy shut up paki you need to stop comeing in the u.k at depend on you own pakistan air force to pretect you

  • what do you call a RAF pilot trainee?

    "Sacked" !!!!

hard luck , you want to join a army that seems to be doing more attacking than defending. Go get jobs at Easy jet and sell your TVR's !!!!

Top Gun !!!!! My ass , your days of acting cocks in pubs etc are over. The defense cuts have chewed your ass !

  • @karmachasescathy

    shut up arsehole.

  • @karmachasescathy Jealous much ...only 1/4 were cut

  • @karmachasescathy "and sell your TVR's" don't you mean buy them? Commercial Pilots earn alot more than fighter pilots, especially those who fly for the major companies

  • Lolz I live and gonna work there

  • @agibbs98 Or B for as the minimum grade!

  • Good !

  • are u sure?

  • what is the minimum GCSE for maths to be a pilot? the website only specifies 5 GCSE's C grade or above and 2 passed A-levels.

  • @bloodless39 Grade C!

  • @bloodless39 , A*, A, B and C for maths!!

  • @JVson001 what does that mean, oh wait, any of those grades work?

  • @bloodless39 , All 4 are recommendable, you need to make your CV look good.

  • @JVson001 math's will be like b for me, but i'l have 2 a*'s and few A's here and there, i'm not that bad at this school stuff

  • @bloodless39 , Well all i can say is just do well and get the best possible grades!!

  • @bloodless39 I'm not here to crush your dreams, but if you can't understand the website (which is pretty simple to understand) and you also lack in the grammar and spelling department, they aren't gonna give you a jet worth millions to play with. You need to go and do alot of research before you dedicate your life to a career as a pilot because where i'm standing at, you may be wasting alot of time.

  • i am 16. i want to join the RAF as a pilot but how would i go about doing this? i am going to go to college to get a levels in physics, IT, comnined english, and fitness and exercise. I want to join after college so how do i do that?

  • @iMoDz114 check out the web site (just goodle 'RAF' and search 'Jobs') but they can fund you through college if you agree to service. Basically you need to get an application form, then an interveiw, then there's a test and fitness stuff (run 2.3miles in under 12 minutes on a tred mill) medical assesments and then a final interneiw. Just look on the web or contact your nearest base.

  • you don't have to be a pilot to be in the RAF....my dad was in the RAF in WW2 as a mechanic fighting the japs.......oops I said japs LOL He and another guy once spent a couple of weeks behind enemy lines at a secret airfied cut in the jungle........they refueled fighters so they could quickly get back into action...they slept clutching their rifles

  • I live in gwalchmai 5 minutes away from RAF Valley, I love watching the BAe Hawks flying all day :)

  • I must be the luckiest person to be accepted by the RAF for fighter pilot training. I went to Biggin Hill in September 1979 for air crew selection, not because I wanted to join up as a pilot, but because they paid loss of earnings to those that lasted the three day process. I booked three days off work and literally went down just to claim the money so I got paid twice. I was racing motorcycles at weekends in those days so I was always broke. Three days later I was offered a place - pure fluke!

  • @MrMichael510 if u want to be a fighter pilot you have to be 25 or below that is not the same for airlines or rotary wing companies also back to your 1st question an it degree would be beneficial

  • how many pilots in today's RAF come from working class backgrounds?

  • @jesoby Having been an officer in the RAF myself I can assure you that backgrounds have absolutely nothing to do with your success in the RAF. You can do the job or you can't, its that simple. The image of the 'gentleman pilot' is all very nice for the movies in WW1/2 but it doesn't represent the modern air force.

  • Yep there's a woman who owns some stables near the airfield, she's always complaining to the base about noise...they just overfly her house to piss her off lol

  • Good video, like it.Couple of points - don't buy a house near here if you want peace and quiet! bit obvious I suppose,I kayak near here and it is deafening, and entertaining at the same time. The other point is,I would have thought filming here like this wouldn't be allowed,I've been close to here and was quite wary of pointing my camcorder in that direction! Glad you did though it was good.

  • I desperately want 2 b a fighter pilot I go 2 air cadets and sometimes go flying but I'm not sure if my eyesight is good enough I am fine with all the other stuff like grades and that cos I'm pretty smart please could sum1 tell me wot the vision requirements are thanks :)

  • wanna be in the raf as a pilot when i am old enough but it costs loads to know how to fly a plane before hand. wanna join air cadets aswell lol

  • You shouldn't let that put you off, you don't have to be a pilot before you join,

If you do want to learn before hand just go down to your local airfield and ask to help out at a flying club in exchange for flying hours, thats what i did and ended up getting my licence a few weeks after my 17th birthday.

  • @unthinkable1000 hi do you think i can join the Royal Air Force with an I.T Degree?

    please write back

  • @MrMichael510

Yeah of course you can, depending on what role you go for it'll really help.

what are you hoping to go in as?

  • @unthinkable1000 oh i was hoping to get in as a pilot

    write back

    thanks

  • Does anyone know about training to become a fast jet pilot ? Im currently doing my GCSE' but really interested in becoming one in the future,

thanks in advance for any information :)

  • sure.....if you can do some flying before you join...even if just gliders like me then it will be of great help. Join the air cadets to get more flying experience, you can do gliding and flying scholarships with the Air Cadets for the RAF.

Qualifications you need: 2 A-levels or 3 Highers or equivalent, plus 5 GCSEs/SCEs at Grade C/3 minimum or equivalent, including English language and maths

  • best thing to do would be to head down to your local careers office, they'll give you all the info you need

  • if the back of the hawk has blue and yellow its from 208 sqrn but if its blue and white its from 19F (fighetr squadron) training for fast jet deployment!

  • These pilots train with missiles on the plane!!??

  • probz under fuel system they look like missiles

  • aeroplane!

  • @slateade123 They may not be live missiles, but yes, you have to be able to fire a missile so it helps to practise with them.

  • they are data recording pods on the rails

  • What you think to looks like missiles are actualy pods the hold a type of memory card thing that records the inflight data of training that is then logged on a computer back at there base. I know this as i have been shon around the hawk by a pilot at RAF Leeming were 100sqn are.

  • were does this RAF valley actually lie in england going there in a month or so would love to visit or atleast check it out :)

  • RAF Valley is located in the North West of Anglesey, Wales.

  • @Nucieftw RAF valley isnt in england, its in wales up near hollyhead, look on google maps

  • @Nucieftw it is in anglesey

  • It is strange really that the public can get so close to these planes sited as they are on an RAF base yet spotters are if not actually banned then discouraged at commercial airports. A great day out for anyone keen on aircraft. 5*

  • I was there last week, was proper good :)

  • I so wonder what "croeso i llu awyr brenhinol y fali" means HAHA LOL

  • Fantastic footage. Must try and go to Valley. Last time I was there was when I was 2 and my parents were based there (Sis was born there)

  • RAF pilots must have so much fun in those birds

  • Nice one!

  • Nice!

  • The Hawk is an excellent aircraft

  • Excellent footage. I am surprised that spotters are allowed so close. Any other airport in the country seems to want to keep away all the extra eyes that can help with possible security breeches and yet at RAF Valley Anglesey positively encourages spotters. Other Airports take note.

    Well done 5*

  • I wonder why its says crash gate 2

  • Because they practice crashing into it

  • There are several crash gates around RAF Valley and Airports in general. This is so emergency services can get to the scene of the accident.

  • thanks for the clarification!

  • @mcpcshowcaseHD also because to get to the other side of the airfield you have to go round the perry track which is usually accesed via crash gate two, under where it said crash gate 2 there is a sign saying open or closed so people know whether they can use it or not. other wise they need to go a difernt route

  • I think I saw an article on these in Aircraft Illustrated. I do love the Hawks though.

  • Stunning quality!

  • Awesome view - especially the close up of the pilots.
