I recommend to anyone who is going to buy one of these to get the SS kit version, not only will you know your truck inside and out, you can also add your hopups without taking this beast apart again. The only bad thing is the SC version don't have a kit. The SS kit does come with all the orange aluminum parts rather than the gunmetal that the RTR has, I agree nath0987, I've never hated it either. I love mine, It gets as much use as my truggy i race all the time

is HPI working on a 4x4 version of this size truck. I would love to race a four by four version of this. I mean, four wheel drive. I've been racing one eighth scale buggies for a few years on and off. and can you recumend an electric conversion kit for this truck? and is HPI working on releasing an electric version, that you know of? I prefer the 5b cause on my 5t, the body just blocks the engine and it overheats. also, you have to take the body off to fuel the engine and to start the truck. Even tho he says u can reach the pull start through the body, you cant reach the primer bulb.

you are mislead, you do have to break them in, but its not as specific, pretty much the break in is running it an inconsistent speeds, you can find steps on gas engine break in on youtube. Tuning is pretty much set and forget with gas too. I might get one in the future, with all the difficulties i am having with my new nitro.

with some mods, the 5T and 5B are different. The best part being the 5T is 26cc and the 5B is 23cc

actually you can, the side mud guards are held on by body clips, the only major thing youd need to do is to buy the other set of body mounts for the front and rear. switch out the body mounts for the 5b mounts, take the mud guards off and you have a 5b with a more powerful engine.
