...i had to thumb up both top comments...it was way ahead of its time and a masterpeice start to finish...i bought it when it came out and my mind was blown...it was so heavy fast and baddass i couldnt accept it into my reasoning...but a year and a half later it was on..my wife hates it to this day because i insist on fucking to it...the black flame is my fuckin anthem..and i dont care what any1 says its in my top 5 non classic death metal albums

I don't care if anyone disagrees with me but i always see Nile as more than death metal, They change musical patterns and structure in their music so much and also include traditional music and sounds.. i kinda always see them as progressive technical death metal or epic adventurous death metal. (and yeah, because they are that awesome)

Nile. something like fifteen years ago or something when i was to young too know how to find good music, i was working on a job site and a then older coworker gave me a bunch of nile stuff to listen to. i loved it but my dad found it and hid it, i had to steal it back to give them back. but, years later i only recognise that this was the band only cause i remember the album cover of one of the cds. i wish i wrote down who it was and listened to this instead of fucking pantera. cause i love nile

no im not saying DM is the best type of metal, it however CAN BE one of the hardest to play and write. bands like opeth, and quo vadis are very melodic in their playing. and no, the mainstream band syou mentioned are not the best metal bands. the best metal is tech metal, lik spiral architect, and progmetal like dream theater.solo artist like rudess satriani, and sherinian make some of the best technical music. and there really isnt muchof a difference between slay and nile. besides vocals
