Amazing piece and great version I thought, I just wish they hadn't put the conductor in as many scenes during some of the most technically impressive moments - e.g. 08:44 or 09:00 - I wanted to see the musicians playing those bits!
...still - good to see a younger conductor up there trying something a bit different
No it's not just you cazzel lol he waves in a weird way to me but anyway the rendition remains very interesting and valuable to me. Thanks for sharing this.
WOW- yes love the conductor! Watching him I feel as though I should grab an instrument and start playing! INTENSE! Love it! Plus, this is one of my favorite pieces!
This piece is fantastic! But the only problem is, the conductor is somehow trying to be expressive, and ends up becoming like frankenstein. No offense guys, but he's kinda creepy.
The conductor looks like he belongs in a Harry Potter film.....great energy and very fun to watch. This is my first time hearing this piece and I must say I am very impressed, great build of suspense and overall character.
Damn, glad I gave up the cancer sticks. Awesome performance despite the human reaction to smoking...Take some cough syrup before attending a performance like this PLEASE.
I almost made a clever comment about the coughers, but it seems that everyone has done that already. It is bad enough when they think that the silence in between movements means that they ought to release a storm of coughs, but to cough *over* the piano sections? I am very angry. Great performance, otherwise.
This conductor is amazing! I love it when you get conductors that actually appear to enjoy the music and share that passion with the members of the orchestra - for myself, as an orchestral player, it makes so much difference to the performance :D
So many are so in love with the finale of this symphony, but I must say I love this movement, it's so oddly written, the recap is nothing but a half step modulation, only Dvorak could do such a thing and keep one's attention
yes the orchestra is amazing, yes it is a very good performance, yes i am also a conductor from south america so i envy this guy, but dude!!!!!! your conducting scares the sht out of me!!

@loisivert I never said he was a serial I only meant the way he expressed his emotions was unusual and weird in a funny " creepy " way, iy was meant as a joke, no need to call me an idiot.
I love these classical concerts of my favorites...but these sick people need to stifle their coughs, or stay the fuck home. Any clue how many people you've just ruined perfection for???
@JimmieOC I agree, maybe we could just take them out the back and shoot them? Or maybe burn them ritualistically while the orchastra cover themselves in their victims blood?
@JimmieOC I agree, maybe we could just take them out the back and shoot them? Or maybe burn them ritualistically while the orchastra cover themselves in their victims blood?
@JimmieOC You don't want perfection. Players playing EXACTLY right, EXACTLY in tune and EXACTLY (oh my gosh, capital letters!) at the right time sound like machines. It's good nobody is able to play perfectly. No hall noise or moving people would be creepy as well. You're just used to hear other things than the instruments.
The coughs are annoying, that's very right. But they're part of a phenomenon that makes music "breathe". Makes it sound real and alive.
Beautiful! I have this everytime when coming home from the pub. Conducting with my wife´s knitting needle. No, no...no joking - very professional, wonderful and worth listening. Again and again!
From 8:44 to the end it's playing to - an all-out massacre I would say - and I know what I'm talking about because I myself play the violin and orchestra here that plays a I play first violin and it's pretty hard...But here it's really beautiful, and sometimes it freezes on the back :D

@berniewa2008 No, because he's wobbling about like churchill the dog when he sees an overpriced insurance deal, pulling a face that says "somebody please punch me, as I'm clearly a pretentious prick".
@MrHathouse perhaps its not the conductor.. its a great piece, very good orchestra and theyre playing it superbly... maybe just envious as not capable of achieving anything remotely similar? so instead find a thing to bash....
@homobohemicus Hmm, no, actually I think you'll see I play four instruments (playing mainly folk, a far more fun genre than this boring, self-satisfied, snobbish tripe) and also love drum and bass, which, frankly, there is far more skill in than wobbling around on the spot pleasuring an invisible rhinocerous with one hand, and using the other to clean the snot from the noses of the instrumentallists, in an attempt to remove the hideous nasal twang from their voices, with a giant toothpick!
@MrHathouse oh yeah you are more skillful you actually can use a mixer and you know hot to use a turntable all those musicians have wasted their life all that practicing all that studies you are right, Dvorak is so boring...
@waffenfrieden I think you're confusing DJing with production. Perhaps it's all the unfunny sarcasm addling your brain? Maybe it's addling your grammar too... "All that studies"?

@MrHathouse Id like to see you try to play a wind instrument! Were not all "stuck up with a nasal twang" as you like to put it. I play the french horn and the electric guitar, and I ENJOY classical music, as well as rock.
@ImmatureIdiotsFilms It's funny actually, because my girlfriend plays classical flute, but I pretend not to notice ;). Would you not agree that the conducter looks like a prick though?! Surely you must agree with me on that one?
I think it's rather unkind to put the camera right in the conductor's face like that. Every conductor looks a little ridiculous at times.
