Re: "Sweet! Pretty soon these planes won't need you guys at all! ;-)"
We have a running joke in the industry. It's said that in the "not so distant" future, there will be only two crewmembers...the PILOT(me) and a dog. The PILOT is there to monitor the systems, the DOG is there to bite the pilot if he tries to touch anything!
This seemed REAL funny 15 years ago...now it's closer to reality than most want to accept.
The A/C I fly...I need only line up with, and exit the Rwy if wanted.
I.L.S ,,Nice but, takes the fun out of it! but I see alot of fog so hey it helped 110%,,nice vid.its like state farm its there when u need it right!! lol
Fantastic video, Dom! I have a DVD where the pilots of a Fokker 70 do an auto-land. With the Fokker 70, both autopilots had to be engaged-was that the case here? What confused me about that autoland was that the pilots still had their hands on the flight controls-if it's automatic, you wouldn't have to, would you???
What's the point in ever doing a manual landing if you can do this?

Pretty soon there won't be any humans in the cockpit anymore, just a computer if this kind of technology keeps up.

@Tuddley3 That's one way to eliminate pilot error.
