LMFAO....virus protection.....try...VIRUS itself. I got more viruses when I was using this. I now use Windows 7 stripped of any third part virus protection. I am happy to save the money and have less viruses. If they can protect you from them..they can make em...you decide.

Mcafee is telling me one of the websites, I go to all the time is now dangerous

with the Red X.

But when I look up the same website with Google, yahoo, bing etc. Mcafee gives the website a Green Check. Yet when, I click on it, it goes Red X.

A little help anyone?

Lol, mcAfee sucks. It said I had no viruses. Someone told me I had to use another anti virus program, so i did that and it detected 1711 viruses..

only reason i have mcafee is because we only use our computer for the internet and we dont have any buisness stuff on this one so its ok cause its a cheap 1 and safe to get cause you have to buy it

@kibbutskill Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials is a killer-combo for destroying malware. MSE has real-time scanning and MB has superfast yet super-deep scanner. I had AVG installed before I got MSE and when I ran MB it found 2 viruses which AVG didn't pick-up. A lot of people recommend MB and MSE. Also they're free!

Don't get McAfee, it trashed my Grandma's PC when she tried to remove it. It bury's it's keys DEEP in the regerstry and some aren't even named under McAfee! It's a con people!! And when she bought the PC she had no choice because it was pre-installed!! Stay away from McAfee

So I think I have the most basic version of Mcaffee, it found a trojan and asked if I wanted to delete it. I told it yes. Then I deleted the recycle bin and history for safe measure. Is this enough or could there still be remnants of the trojan somewhere else?

Money doesn't buy us complete peace of mind. Free antivirus can give us very good protection.

Security suites are usually too big, too expensive, and frankly too flaky. I also think buying suites most of the time we pay money for features we don't need.
