They could have had Rome, Florence and Venice all in 1 game if they wanted to they are just greedy like most developers today. Forli = pointless Tuscany = the Pazzi conspiracy was supposed to all take place in Florence and all Pazzi conspirators supposedly died in Florence including Jacapo. If you look at the Rome map it could have easily been cut in half and still retained all significant landmarks. AC2+Brotherhood could and should have been just one very large game.

I would hate it if it is in modern times, it would really suck. You would have guns so you get no close quarters sword fighting and countering. You can easily kill people from afar, and it would just not be as fun. fps have been way to over done. They would ruin ac if they did a modern times one for the third.

Besides they have already talked about the possibility of a female assassin, and taking place in Rome, Ancient Greece, or Egypt.

So it won't be modern.

the doc got desmond to reserch the creed vs knights templar, thought that in AC1 era of Altair was the begging of the feud, then worked up to the italian rennasance, but found out that Altair's era wasen't the beggning, so AC3 will go before the crusade, then AC4 will be in the present playing only as Desmond, killing present day masons, shriners, (their related to the knights templar) and desmond will use a bunch of gadgets and things so he can roam around a modern city. yes? no?

well i imagine that if they take those lessons close to hear they wont forget that the player is the one that should tell them what they missed in the last one and while new matirial is always nice its not worth it when it doesnt contribute enogh to capture attention that meaning at some point they need a difrent motivation and era typeing ie western or modern and adding a new way to play first person mode and ablity to buy will make the game difrent with loads of other effects hope get it right

Assassin's Creed 2 Platforms Confirmed Ubisoft made their official announcement of Assassin's Creed 2 today. So as to put an end to any rumors about exclusivity, they've confirmed that it will be released on "all current-generation platforms."

AC2 is currently scheduled for a holiday 2009 release. Presumably "all current-generation platforms" means PS3, Xbox 360, and PC but maybe they'll sneak a handheld version in there, too.
