I love this aria. I'm a clarinettist and have just played this beautiful piece in a production of Juditha Triumphans this week with the En Travisti Ensemble.
Ann Hallenberg is truly amazing. Already as early as this, in 2001, she out sings all star singer the CD labels insists on recording in Handel repertoire. Its sad that they miss the opportunity to record a solo CD with a true Handel/Vivaldi star like Ann Hallenberg in her prime.
Beautifully sung but the tempo is extremely slow and boring...

And I tought that Magda Kozena was the best mezzo Juditha! OMG! She's tottally amazing and I love this aria! Thanks for post!!!!

I agree. Kozena is a stunning performer but I must confess I prefer Ann's voice and style.
