@sgherlopuzz Well.. actually I wasn't follow any tab if that concerns you that much.. it says "fooling around". I wasn't trying to show the world how bad I am or how great I am playing the guitar...just showing how the pickups sound. Anyway, you are entitled to your opinion, if I ever watch a Video where you actually play, I might consider if it worths something.
My Gilmour project gets picked up tomorrow from my tech Im so excited, I ordered the 1, ply pickguard the same pickups had the mini toggle switch put in so you have 7 options instead of 5, 4 1/2 inch whammy bar, kluson tunners its fucking legit, lol i will post a video really soon.
Actually, Gilmour has two pickups that nobody knows what they are with a SSL-5. His tech found them way back and he liked the sound and has kept them. Seeing that nobody can get those, a CS50s neck and a CS69 middle is about as close to the sound as you can get.....as those are the two he picked for his signature model.
THANK YOU for just showing us what the pickups sound like instead of what a great guitarist you are or what great effects you have! That made this vid useful.
gee awesome my friend i attemp to put on my strat cs69 on neck and mid, position and ssl 5 on bridge.for a vintage tone and i know this pick ups has lower output so im gonna try them soon.i used to play hendrix pink floyd, srv, and some classics .also i found that i like most the fat 50 pick up on neck but i have to heard the combination btween neck and mid pick ups.thanks my friend really help me out saludos desde tijuana mexico.
@avispasentuass Hi. It responds very well with lots of articulations and an easy clean up. The SSL-5 is much more strong and works better without a tone pot in my opinion but my amp is kind of dark so this might not be the same for marshall, fender or almost any other amp. The cs69 is a bliss.. you can go from overdrive to early breakup just with the dinyamics of your playing.
Longwhip, people that are good at something don't usually need to brag or even comment on how supposedly "great" they are, so you should probably STFU. I like this vid because not everyone has the backing of "Protools" or the budget to make a high quality vids. Besides, this IS how most people sound in their home when they're jamming. I think it sounds pretty good, I hear the tone, resonance and sustain.
Probably you will increase the quality of your sound using a better amplifier (a Fender if you love Pink Floyd, not a Marshall) and a good microphone to record it (a Shure SM57 for example). About the pickups you're using the same pickups of Mr Gilmour...what better?:-)))
Absolutely agree, Regarding the pickups, the Fat 50's in the neck didn't worked for me it was too bright compared to the SSL-5, I have now a cs69 in the neck and a Cs54 in the middle. This combination woks better in my guitar, I guess we should always try to experiment to try accomplish that. Thnks for your comment!

Sorry but i will never buy that combo of pickups. They sound like shit! Wow and after watching Lollar, Van Zandt, Fralins, and J M Rolph pickup videos, you really can tell the difference and where your money is spent....Throw those pickups under a fast moving train and buy something good...sorry...you need tonal help and maybe a tuner and some lessons....ouch...
That's why there is several pickups on the market. To satisfy different tonal preferences.. I feel sorry for you if you think that only you have the knowledge to post this kind of comment.. you need to learn huimility.
Sorry if i offended you. Humility isn't far from where I start my day every day. I know you tried to demo some Fender pickups for great intentions...I am just blown away by the fact when you listen to other clips on the above mentioned brands, you can really tell the difference even through cheap computer speakers.
I teach and have played for better that 26 years and am sorry to offend you. You are probably happy with blending those and obviously enough to want to YOUTUBE it. Sorry!
Theres a huge difference in those videos, the reason they sound high quality is because they are recording to a direct input in the computer, unlike this guy hes just testing using his camera which doesn't pick up much of the tone.
La combinación es buena indudablemente aunque ha decir verdad me gusta un sonido todavia mas "gordo" en el neck. Creo que pronto probaré una texas special a ver como resulta. La tex-mex era muy buena en esa posición pero demasiado potente..
READ THE TITLE! SAYS TESTING pickups. If you want to hear someone play a guitar download a music video. People need to relax. nice sound demo btw.

Hows the neck on that JV? Fairly smooth? Are the frets rough on the edges? Weight?
ElTone43 2 years ago
THe Gilmour setup works perfect for me, the SSL-5 nails the tone!

Hey i was wondering between the fat 50's pups and 69 customs which are better for a gilmourish tone overall?
I wanna make a custom guitar like the black strat but am on a budget, any incite would help thanks!

CS69 in my opinion...
hgoruiz 2 years ago
@zutstrikeback Gilmour used CS 69 and CS54
GuitarCailuong 1 year ago
@GuitarCailuong Gilmour used a custom hand-wound fat 50s and a custom wound strat pickup with an SSL-5 in the bridge.
