In my humble opinion, keeping the light at a fixed place keeps all the shadows, light angles and reflections the same, so reflective materials or objects in the room won't change any "hot spots" that may occur. It all depends on the strain. The more indica, the more it helps with pain relief, more Skunk#1 dominant strains are uplifting, etc.

And you don't have the side effects of chemical medication. Valium for instance can lead to bleeding and mild depression.
