@0x12d3 ok thanks for this answer ! I tried this mapping with my vci and traktor pro 2. It could be awesome , but I don't know if because of the version of traktor or something, there are some glitches or functions which cannot be used as Ean shows us in this video... Maybe this could be fixed with some mapping work ! If you also tried this configuration as me , your opinion will be great to me ! :)

sorry, it's been so long... I have not tried the mapping yet, been very busy. I'm about to order the firmware upgrade kit and overlay right now, but I'll try out the midi mapping first and let you know how it goes...what's glitchy in particular, so I can report back? cheers.

Okay haven't played around w/ it yet, but I noticed the layout picture in the zip file doesn't match the one for this older vid... it goes with the "VCI-100SE Mapping Tutorial PT 1." (feb 15 2010) tutorial linked @0:11. I'm using firmware 1.2 (the stock firmware) and corresponds pretty closely.

Hi Ean ! ( I don't know if you'll see this message ...) I have 2 questions : you say that this mapping works with traktor pro 1.3 or 1.4 , does it work with traktor pro 2 ? And can I use your mapping with my regular VCI 100 or is it specially for VCI 100SE ? Thanks if someone could answer me. ( And I apologize for my english, I'm french ! )

I had the same question. According to djtechtools[d0t]com/2008/11/10­/vci-100se-traktor-pro-sweetne­ss/ it seems, it doesn't have to be the VCI-100SE, but indeed any VCI-100

"The new mapping will work with every single VCI-100 out there including firmware versions 1.2 and 1.3! That means if you own ANY VCI-100, you can download the TSI file and try out our performance concepts of our VCI-100SE layout for free."

I also use Traktor Pro 2, I'll let you know how it turns out.

@CrazycheeseD You can use it with Traktor Duo. A few of the functions won't work the same since you only have two effect banks in Duo, but most of the controls will be fine.

The Vestax has an internal mixer, but if you like you can use an external.

I currently have the VCI 100 working with Tracktor LE but after i play about 3 songs the tracktor le stops and shuts down. is there something i need or is this a bug in tracktor le and i need to upgrade to pro? any suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks

You want to upgrade to pro asap. Le is really basic only having a couple of effects and your stuck with only a four bar loop. It will be about a $100.00 but it's so much better than le.

This is impressive. I had previously heard that there was a platter startup problem with vci-100that sounded funny, I guess this was fixed awhile back?

Question, if I buy the 100SE from you guys, I know it is designed for Traktor Pro, will it still work logically with the Traktor LE in case I don't upgrade right away?

I'm very close to buying one of these, seems like a no brainer to get the SE for what, only fifty bucks more than the standard, and it includes rubber knobs right?

Traktor scratch pro once in a while miscalculates the bpm of your tracks...this means that its sync-ing but to a track that it misread and thats most likely why it drops down.

You can go into the Traktor options, then into the keyboard mappings tab. If you create a mapping for deck focus and learn the assignment to your controller you can assign deck focus to any button\s you like on the keyboard.

Ean would most likely recommend the Vestax VCI-100. It's what he uses, and what i use.

The VCI-100 has got to be one of the best midi controller for Traktor Pro. It's so versatile and easy to use. Plus with all the support Djtechtools and ean golden gives it you couldn't ask for a better controller.

Think you'd have to buy a regular Vestax VCI-100 in black or silver (your choice), then buy the Special Edition Overlay from the DJTechTools website.

That's what I've done, waiting for it to come through the post. There's a video on ean goldens profile of how to attach the overlay to your vci100 too.

The TSI file you need to map your vci 100 with SE overlay to traktor pro is on DJTechTools as well.

VCI 300 is for scratching I think, not sure on that though.

VCI 100 is for everything else.

the 300 has audio out - the 100 is just a midi controller.

go with the 100 and get an external sound card - Ean has a video of good ones under $200

hes right, 300 is more of a scratch thing- it was also designed for ITCH no traktor- there is a patch for traktor but its better to get a 100 imo, the only thing the 300 has on a 100 is an internal soundcard, i think 24 bit support, and much nicer jogpads and general construction

I did it, turns out I had the wrong version of traktor pro, upgraded, imported mapping, and having a blast. Now all I need is about 10,000 more songs. Thanx guys at djtt the se blows my old regular vci away.  TODZILLA

When I try to import the tsi Traktor says: "Acsessor information got different version - Therefore it has been ignored". I'm using Traktor 1.0.1 and VCI 100 with firmware 1.2. Would love to use your tsi and the overlays, so it would be cool, if you could tell me what I need to change. Thanks.
