I visited Ed's yard on a few occasions. The first time you saw Ed around those dogs you knew he loved them like they were his kids. By the time I left the yard on my first visit I was covered in muddy paw prints. All those dogs were happy, healthy and people friendly. They needed no rehab what-so-ever. The Inhumain Society did an awful thing in what amounts to the very thing they're supposed to be champions against by killing those dogs.

Humane Societies do the best they can with what little funding they receive. Not every shelter has the money/staff to rehabilitate every animal that comes through their doors, and if you're really angry about that then put your energy into educating the public about dog fighting etc.

I have had this breed since the 70's and I do not condone dogfighting at all. I know what they were bred for and have rescued many. I do not support HSUS or PETA. They are out to destroy this breed. What they have done to these dogs is beyond heartbreaking. When they destroy all the pitbulls, are they going to start on another breed? Punish the DEED, not the BREED.

Other than the video poster's assertion that he did, is there a more reliable source to confirm the validity of that statement?
In my readings of this case, once Faron pleaded guilty to 14 counts of felony dogfighting, Judge Wilson was bound by North Carolina law, which states that dogs harbored for fighting are deemed dangerous, and as such are to be euthanized.
Then the damn laws need to be changed. Two week old puppies are not dangerous dogs just because of the parents pedigree or heritage. It is strange how the most of the Vick dogs have homes, some in a sanctuary and then Boudreaux, Patrick and Faron's dogs are euthanized on the spot. What makes the Vick dogs so much better. Is it his NAME? I do not condone dogfighting at all but I also don't condone the mass murder of the dogs either. People that donate to HSUS or PETA are wasting their money.
I personally think it's not the fault of either the HSUS or PETA (even though I am not a big fan of Peta at all) It's the fault of the breeders all over this world that can not bother to fix their animals.
Yes in a utopia their would be homes for all these animals, but it's just physically impossible. No kill shelters (not all) often send animals to shelters that will do the dirty work for them , so they can keep their hands clean.
I should clarify, it's mainly backyard breeders. Reputable breeders will only have 1 litter once every year or two and usually all the puppies are spoken for before they even hit the ground.
As far as Pitbull litters, especially ones that are bred to be game.. how many knowledgable homes is there for them, other then the dog fighters. How many resources are available to rehabilitate these dogs? Not many and Pitbulls aren't the only breeds they help :(

All Pit Bull dogs are created equal, which is exactly the point that the HSUS and PETA have made. 1.25 million non-game bred Pit Bull dogs die every year in shelters who were never given the chance to be evaluated. No one is talking about those dogs, though.
I am sick of hearing game bred this and game bred that. I have been around this breed a very long time and I have knowledge that does not come from websites or the stupid media. Game-the willingness to complete any task given. A dog does not have to fight to be game. I am not the only one with that opinion. You should own and understand this breed before you speak.

The HSUS is the only group in the U.S. with an entire campaign dedicated to busting dog-fighting operations.
It is not they who decide whether a dog liberated from a fighting ring lives or dies. State legislators make those laws. Judges enforce them.
I realize your frustration, however. Write your lawmakers and demand that the 2 billion dollars being spent every year to kill shelter animals be used to humanely house, care for, and adopt out society's abandoned animals.
The HSUS offered to pay for professional evaluations, and Best Friends offered to spay/neuter/place them as well, but the Wilkes County DA dismissed the offers.
Why? Such offers did not address the significant cost to the county for the care, shelter, training or rehabilitation of most of the dogs pending evaluation and placement, which would have exceeded the 1 million spent to save the 47 Victory Dogs.
The HSUS are not lawmakers. North Carolina lawmakers killed those dogs.

Did you even take the time to look at videos of his yard? all dogs look great and none show signs of human aggression OR ARE FAT. I visited Ed's yard on a few occasions. The first time you saw Ed around those dogs you knew he loved them like they were his kids. By the time I left the yard on my first visit I was covered in muddy paw prints. All those dogs were happy, healthy and people friendly. They needed no rehab what-so-ever. The Inhumain Society did an awful thing in what amounts to the very thing they're supposed to be champions against by killing those dogs.

I think we need to come together in support of Animal Welfare Organizations and Non-Profits (not PETA per se) and stop the in-fighting. We all want to see an end to dog fighting and the bias against Pit Bulls.
Humane Societies do the best they can with what little funding they receive. Not every shelter has the money/staff to rehabilitate every animal that comes through their doors, and if you're really angry about that then put your energy into educating the public about dog fighting etc.

From what I can understand, this case was out of their hands. Just as they were NOT responsible for the 100 plus dogs being there, they were not responsible for the Judge ruling that the dogs be put down.

I just believe that all of these dogs should be given a second chance. It does not matter if they come from the dogfighter or not. They are always looked at as a menace to society because of what they were bred to do. I do not have a problem with CD but I have a major problem with any City in any State that will kill like NC did. The HSUS has more than enough money to do something. The judge in Va wanted the Vick dogs killed but people fought for them. I expect the same in any State.

HSUS is a money-grubbing "charity" plain and simply. They spend all their money trying to pass bans on pet ownership. Look at the Katrina fund-raising scam video on Youtube.
PETA did the same exact thing with Vick's dogs. They wanted them all killed without temperament tests. Why? Cause they don't want to spend their money helping actual animals. PETA and the HSUS are against pets existing. They want them phased out through mandatory spay/neuter laws,so the more dead pets the better.

Other than the video poster's assertion that he did, is there a more reliable source to confirm the validity of that statement?
In my readings of this case, once Faron pleaded guilty to 14 counts of felony dogfighting, Judge Wilson was bound by North Carolina law, which states that dogs harbored for fighting are deemed dangerous, and as such are to be euthanized.

Then the damn laws need to be changed. Two week old puppies are not dangerous dogs just because of the parents pedigree or heritage. It is strange how the most of the Vick dogs have homes, some in a sanctuary and then Boudreaux, Patrick and Faron's dogs are euthanized on the spot. What makes the Vick dogs so much better. Is it his NAME? I do not condone dogfighting at all but I also don't condone the mass murder of the dogs either. People that donate to HSUS or PETA are wasting their money.

I personally think it's not the fault of either the HSUS or PETA (even though I am not a big fan of Peta at all) It's the fault of the breeders all over this world that can not bother to fix their animals.
Yes in a utopia their would be homes for all these animals, but it's just physically impossible. No kill shelters (not all) often send animals to shelters that will do the dirty work for them , so they can keep their hands clean.

I should clarify, it's mainly backyard breeders. Reputable breeders will only have 1 litter once every year or two and usually all the puppies are spoken for before they even hit the ground.
As far as Pitbull litters, especially ones that are bred to be game.. how many knowledgable homes is there for them, other then the dog fighters. How many resources are available to rehabilitate these dogs? Not many and Pitbulls aren't the only breeds they help :(

The vick dogs were not euthanized because they came with a million dollar dowry as part of the plea deal. Best Friends received $400,000 of that money, which they've stated will not cover half the cost of the 22 dogs' lifetime care.
All Pit Bull dogs are created equal, which is exactly the point that the HSUS and PETA have made. 1.25 million non-game bred Pit Bull dogs die every year in shelters who were never given the chance to be evaluated. No one is talking about those dogs, though.

The HSUS offered to pay for professional evaluations, and Best Friends offered to spay/neuter/place them as well, but the Wilkes County DA dismissed the offers.
Why? Such offers did not address the significant cost to the county for the care, shelter, training or rehabilitation of most of the dogs pending evaluation and placement, which would have exceeded the 1 million spent to save the 47 Victory Dogs.
The HSUS are not lawmakers. North Carolina lawmakers killed those dogs.
