I hate when people only experience an extremely small portion of korean culture(such as Idol groups and K-pop and k-dramas) and think they know everything about korean culture. I'm sorry to tell you, if you think Idol group is the only thing then you are DEAD wrong. There are still A LOT of people who follow, listen and support the real artists like Big Mama. Probably more than people who only follow the idols.

although i think in soon ee's version of this song is the best out there, big mama has an advantage - harmony. In soon ee sings solo but sings it damn good on her own, but the harmony that big mama has in their cover sounds so much more rich than in soon ee's version. Awesome performance, they should sing more songs like this to show off their talents :D

Actually, that lip sync thing was a video made to make a point, at least as I understand it. SixLover is correct when he/she says that they "don't meet Korean standards in looks." They made the lip sync video to show that even though they don't meet that standard, they are incredibly talented.

@SixLover I wouldnt say their talent is wasted... they have a large fan base and people are generally excited whenever they release a new single.

Look at SG Wannabe...the group isn't the best looking in the world but they are wildly popular because of their songs. However, SG Wannabe has a much larger fan base because they frequently release new songs and albums while Big Mama only releases an album maybe every two years. If Big Mama made albums more frequently, they would be VERY popular.

what are u talking about? just because we don't hear about them EVERY SINGLE DAY doesn't mean they aren't popular....they are one of the most respected and loved groups in korean history...everyone recognizes them for their talent and voices.....and they aren't seen on music shows as much because they perform at more formal and respected places....music shows are like the playground for idol groups nowadays...hardly see any real talent on those stages....

@SixLover Their talent is not wasted in Korea. Their success is a huge accomplishment that gives hope to people that they can become successful without changing how they look. Big Mama could have easily undergone surgeries to look "perfect" but they didn't, and they're still famous. If anything else, they're needed most in Korea, where appearance is the most important thing. Big Mama is hope for the newer generations in Korea to overcome insecurities and become strong naturally.

I don't know why they are called big mama. they are not that big in weight.. i mean compared to other korean artists, they are a bit chubby but if you compare to american artist, their weight is like normal.

They're called Big Mama because of the instances that they were formed under. When they first formed (M-Boat/YG) they were no where near the image of the other stars. They were, you can say, considered ugly in the minds of Koreans. However, I believe their purpose was to show that talent rises over image (which is obvious through their performances). If you watch their earlier performances, you'll see how much they've changed from their original images. Regardless, they are all really talented!
