thank you!, you really gave me a rethink of my goals with my music production.
I realize now that I'm to hard on myself and make the process of learning harder than it really is...
I think you have to stop criticize yourself when you're making music and just let go of your barriers... in the end you shouldn't make music for others to like... you should make music for your own purpose.
BRILLIANT MAN in thought, thinking, demonstrating, explaining, and sharing ideas.Thank you very much Torley. I think a great job for you would be to be appointed HEAD OF THE UNITED NATIONS and influence people/NATIONS how to replace WARS with PLAYING MUSIC. And I think YOU CAN DO THIS JOB WITH YOUR EYES SHUT. Great guy.thanks.
I never seriously looked at the arpeggiator as a medium for composing complex pieces of music that crawl up and down scales effortlessly. Now that I've seen this video, I've taken a more serious approach to the arpeggiator. Thanks Torley.
haha i use 2 fingers too:D ive branched off and now use some other fingers too cause i just know where the keys are and dont travel the whole way cause my other fingers are there already and i do it without thinking but ya the 2 finger typing style aint too shabby:D i dont really recommend it but thats how i was self trained and all cause i didnt want to take the time to learn how to do it the regular way (but i still might someday) and now i dont even have to look at the keyboard lol
Good question, but I don't think it's the worse situation. I seem to be more frustrated when I can't make my ideas reality because I lack the resources and know-how. I'm a musical person. That's my passion. But sometimes I get a great idea for some other medium, like writing, and more recently, film. But I have no idea how I will go about making my film ideas a reality.
Well! THAT explains why I never liked Black Sabbath. That and Osbourne's nails-on-a-blackboard voice. Other than that, this, Torley, is an informative, inspirational, and encouraging bit. Thanks!
Torley man, very true, my music usually never ends up the way I wanted it to start out; so you really do have to just go along with it to give it real meaning! Very well put.
When i first opened this up and saw that it was 15 minutes long, i pretty much knew that i was going to listen to the first 2 minutes to get the jist and quit. But i sat here and listened to the whole thing.
Your truely a wise and clearly kind person Torley, thank you for sharing some of your wisdom with us!
wohh! no wonder why you know how to use ableton live, you read the guide XD i have to say, there only 2 guides i have read in my life i think, one is the bible second is boss recorder. p.s. "dont change the person" ah speaking of manuals bible says being equally yoked, and that also in genesis where God gave adam a equal helper :D
Man, just finished watching your "How you can tell I know a song is done..." video. Need to get back into this uh... Yeah, I hear ya about physical limitations. Some can be overcome. Check out channels Marcplayle and UltraViolet Man for a little of that. And there are many others, too. Some limitations, however, can't be overcome. For all those who can't play, those of us who can should make the most of it.
Torley, I'd love to jam on the guitar with you any day <3
What has helped me, especially in ruts, has been listening to something new. Breaking away from your typical music can inspire you to think about bizarre things to do with your instrument, new sounds, new riffs. That's one of the cool things about youtube, there are always people out there putting out their own ideas.
Though you may never know all your viewers personally, you already share something deep with them.

I have watched it all and I have no idea what it was about. Not because it wasn't informative, because I am weird.

I lack the sounds that are in my head. I need the instruments, but they don't freaking exist.
