Everybody who is sick and tired of the establishment candidates need to show up in DC on July 12th. We need to get all of the scaliwags and carpetbaggers out of our government reall fast. Gravel is something else.
See, I think the only reason Gravel wasn't paid much attention to was because many people thought of him only as a "grumpy old man." If he were 58 instead of 78 I think he might have actually been considered a top-tier candidate.

Well, I don't agree with his Iraq politics, but he sure it's entertaning. Not in a good way for a politician though. It's more like how when you first read the news section in a newspaper, then sports, human interests etc...at the end you read the comics. That's where Gravel is.
Well, I'm sure this comment section is ravaged by Gravel fans out there, which is why you all adore clueless individuals like piecraft. Fortunately the world isn't run by your heroes.
Yeah fortunately our world is run by evil lunatics hellbent on micro-chipping you and enslaving you and creating wars for no other purpose than to create chaos in which to impose their one world government. What have YOU done to help or of any relevance in this world? Other than making silly comments. I talk the talk and walk the walk so please spare me your infantile perspectives. I lead myself and no one follows me, they are leaders as well. We're simply more aware than you are of the reality.
Yeah, I guess that's why Gravel got like 0.2% of the votes in the democratic primary. And you talk like I'm a republican which I am by no stretch of the imagination. And your talk started with "you sir, are in idiot" which you would know never leads to any productive discussions. I see no point in supporting politicians who's agenda will never get more than marginal support.
Gravel got that vote because of the little airtime and the manner in which the media treated him - but he DID have a large number of supporters who WERE NOT brainwashed by the usual fake slogans and lies. I referred to you as an idiot in the first place because your opening statement insinuated all Gravel supporters were idiots - what with your allegory with the "comics section". Gravel speak buckets of truth and is a kind and decent man.
and I would never vote for a candidate regarding his popularity in the polls - that's ridiculous. And if it's anything to go by then why hasn't Ron Paul won the Republican nomination as he was the most popular? Oh right the MEDIA didn't say so... please, turn off your TV and learn to use your own mind.
And if all you care about is supporting the candidate with the majority vote then you truly are a lost cause and a sheep - because you don't even have the intelligence to research or look up the reality behind the candidate. Look at what Obama is affiliated with and his past, then look at Gravel... complete distinction there. I vote for what I KNOW and BELIEVE is RIGHT and I
Gravel tells TRUTH that hurts people... but, it has to be told... Thanks Gravel for honest answer... unlike others who stood on stage and defended Bush's war gone wrong...

"..the GOP field of candidates is so utterly horrible."
With the policies of preemtive-nuclear war, don't let your partisanship fool you into believing the Democrats are much better than the Republican candidates. Ron Paul atleast got applauded by regular party members when he spoke out at the debates. Gravel got almost none. The problem with Gravel's lack of popularity lies with the Democrat party, plain and simple.
"The only reason a minor-leaguer like Ron Paul "caught on" is because the GOP field of candidates is so utterly horrible."
Actually, it's because Ron Paul infuses his base with a message of optimism and hope, instead of just ranting and raveing. Even if true. Gravel may in fact have a comprehensive plan for a brighter America, but he has not done as admirable or effective a job of conveying it as Congressman Ron Paul.

The soldiers are there dying for oil, that is fact, the foothold IS to stabilize power over the last remaining oil in the world PERIOD. Do you just pretend to misunderstand the mission or are you just among the brainwashed? It's not about terrorism, it's about oil. How could the US leave until the oil is gone? You think this will work??? If there were an occupation here by a foreign power, it probably would work. Americans would just do what they do best, watch sports and mindless entertainment. Iraqis don't have electricity thanks to USA gift of "freedom".
TheGreatGyro: Mike Gravel has the charisma, the smarts, the courage and the heart to do what is best for the American people. Save your put downs for someone that deserves them.
People spend too much damn time looking at polls, they need to go seek the truth & answers themselves. If you think Gravel meets these qualities then YOU MUST give all the support you can give by spreading the word, using the internet, the phones, the mail and the streets. THE MEDIA WON'T DO IT FOR YOU. And Mike won't rely on big business to put him in office, it's up to the people to make REAL change!
You don't think they would rig the elections to make it seem as if the polls were right? They did it in the last election what would stop them from doing it this time? Nevermind, rhetorical question.
Ron Paul - charisma - what a joke! Gravel is about 3 times as smart as Paul. He would be more popular if the media would let him be heard. American people are the ones who decide who has a chance not you. If the sheeple vote for mainstream candidates, that's their fault. Why doesn't Paul debate Gravel? He's afraid.
The way the government treats it's citizens, Who WOULDN'T be a 'government-hating libertarian' kook? What's to like about big government? The less government, the better things would be in this country for people who aren't firmly attached to government teat for their livelyhoods.
i 've seen alot of people trash him he speaks like a really sincere person he doesn't want cash or power he wants to really change this country i don't think he'll win it will prob be hillary maybe she should make him her vice president candidate he reminds me of an oldschool father that cares i'd vote for him he knows the media is fake he doesn't care what they say he says what he feels doesn't hide behind politically correct bs we need someone like him
Jello man hes not doing stand up, its called being personable like a president should be in order to restore our world rep. he reminds me of a harry truman type and id vote for him in a second hes exactly what we need, older wiser, and real, like all our past presidents BEFORE our country started getting messed up, they rose us to the top, we need Gravel in 08.
Mike Gravel makes sense. next to him are the worst kind of snakes in human skin you have ever seen in your life.
Grave, Ron Paul and Kuchin are the only 3 US patriots. the rest I don't even know what to call them other than dispicable devils. keep em away from tv sreen they have horrible negative infulence.
Why Americans who claim to be Christians are the staunchest ally of the Turks who committed genocide on the first Christian nation of the world, the Armenians? Why are Jews suppressing knowledge of the Armenian genocide in order to curry favor with the Turks who just elected an Islamist government? What does Christ tell George Bush when He speaks to the president? that screwing the first Christian nation of the world is in our national interest perhaps, as the State Department claims it is?
America must stop aiding and abetting the DENIAL of the genocide of the first Christian nation of the world, the Armenians IF Americans want to be able to claim that they are Christians.
Armenia doesn't matter. It has almost no strategic importance to our nation. And frankly, we don't give it shit if it is a Christian nation or not. Religion is the cause of almost every war we have ever seen.
While his heart might be in the right place, it would be nicer to have these points coming from someone a little more coherent and a little less focused on doing stand-up.
i seriously doubt any candidate wants preemptive nuclear war. No one wants that because the world would suffer not just the US. So keep some nukes, not thousands.
Mike Gravel on the Democratic side and Ron Paul on the Republican side are by far the best candidates that are available. I just hope that people will realize this and they'll actually get a shot. =/
Ron Paul has much better ideas based on the constitution and historical fact and hindsight than any of the democrats or republicans. Go for Ron Paul all the way to the white house.
Mike Gravel could easily turn this Republican into a Democrat if he comes away with the Democratic nomination. This guy is down to earth and very electable in middle America. Ron Paul and Mike Gravel should form a pact that if either becomes their parties nominee, the other would be vice-president.
Mike Gravel and Ron Paul are the only true grassroot candidates in this pig pen.
Actually I might have spoken a little too soon. This guys still wants to through lots of money into the Mideast. He still sound's like a good guy but he is far way away still from Paul's constitutional, non-entanglement, foreign policy. Solving the Mideast's problems is not our business, and if we get out of the way-- stop subsidizing Israel for example, they may just be able to solve their own problems.
When go in illegally and invade a soveriegn national, you sort of made our business. We have a responsibility to repair the damage we did. And what is exactly Paul's plan to get out of Iraq. I dont here that.
You should learn a little about the Mideast. For one thing there never was an "Iraq" except the British, by some magical colonial power, said so and Kings and dictators agreed. Granted some sense of national identity, particularly among the middle class, did developed over those 70 or so years, but most of those people have fled. What is left are three well defined tribal groups who all want their own state.
The real problem is how are the national resources going to be divided. In any event to presently it is being looted by U.S. corporations, and the only people who have the will to stay in the Iraq are those who are getting richer by doing so. The Iraqis want us out, and isn't that what "Iraqi" freedom is all about-- what they want?
You should have told your repub leaders to learn about the middle east. Those things I am well aware, but are you aware that Iran had a democracy in place and in 1952 we came in and destroyed. We had no business being over their, but we have a monterary obligation to help fix it.
destroying their middle class, installing a puppet govt. Making it deadlier for anyone to step outside their house. Practically no water or electricity running, breaking our military and theirs. 655000 plus dead Iraqis, thousands of troops dead. Shall I go on or are you just being a smartass.
no I am not being a smartass, but your tone comes across as somewhat hysterical, and I wasn't positive about what to which you are referring. I tell what we don't need is more Mideast foreign policy driving by hysteria-- these poor people have suffered enough.
I am not so sure it is fair to say we destroyed the "Iraqi" middle class. I mean we aren't responsible for the dynamic tribal tensions that exist there. It might be more fair to say the Middle class hasn't been able to survive the removable of the Bath party because of the tensions. And as tragic as all the death has been there is nothing we can do about that now.
I am still confused, however, about what you're advocating. Is it that the U.S. prop up another authoritarian regime to replace the Bath party? Exactly how do you think the U.S. can help address any of those issues except by leaving and thereby ceasing to be an agitating element to difficulties faced by the Sunni's, Shiites' and Kurds in the area?
What do you call over 2 million people who leave fled the country were part of the middle class. College educated people, doctors, business owners. We cant do anything about the ones who have died, but we can prevent further deaths, by getting the hell out of there, pay them for the chaos that we caused and let them to theirselves.
How about we just stop looting their natural resources. I am all for that. Anyway, pay who the Sunnis, the Shiites, the Kurds? Maybe we should come up some type of scale cause you know that's always fair. But again I reiterate I disagree that it's fair to say we caused the chaos which always existed latently and was only held in check by an authoritarian government.
Weird, I realize that there are a lot of typos and erroneous words because of left/right brain conflict and/or not paying attention to what word had actually been selected in spell check, but I don't think you understood anything I've said. I've always thought Iraq was both a strategic and tactical mistake, and I never supported the war. Here I've only been challenging your position that money can some how solve the problems in the Mideast. Maybe you should read my comments again.
I have read your post from the begining. I am not saying money is the end all solution to the problems over there, but it is a start. After all this criminal enterprise went over there after the oil in the first place. Also to set up puppet govt to loot and steal.
No, the high gas prices are both a reflection of the markets concern over crude oil distribution, and the refining capacity to actually make the gas out of that crude oil. Plus it is a misnomer to think that going to Iraq for the oil means helping the U.S. consumer. What it means is that U.S. companies control and profit from the control of those resources. This may help our economy as a whole, but it doesn't necessarily reduce the price of gas.
But you still haven't answered the question who'd we even give the money too. Do we give it to the Kurds, Sunnis or Shiites? I suggest, and this is also Ron Paul's position, that we just get out the way and give them a chance to solve their own problems, which in then end we didn't create. These problems were only kept in check by the strong hand of Saddam Hussein.
Im DONE with reagan, bush, clinton, bush, clinton, bush, reagan, clinton, bush!!!!! WHY must there be a select handfull of people running the fucking world for the last 80 years??? THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS COUNTRY IS ABOUT!! I like this guy, but the election is already over. We do not elect the president, he (or she) is elected way before they run.
This empire will fall if Rudy gets in. Plain and simple. You cannot possibly have a positive economy when you continue to borrow 3+ billion dollars a day.
I don't want him in there either, But the NWO has already elected him...i think. The candidate with the closest ties to the Bush dynasty and dirty $ will win this election
Mike "AK47 shooting up the" Gravel in SC. He got right down to business in this mass debate & hit the nail right on the head. The US military instustial complex is the largest "potential" terrorist organization in the world. Where are the weapons of mass destruction? Most are made right here in the USA & then many are eventually sold worldwide for profit. Scary! Stop the madness.

You think this will work??? If there were an occupation here by a foreign power, it probably would work. Americans would just do what they do best, watch sports and mindless entertainment. Iraqis don't have electricity thanks to USA gift of "freedom".

Mike Gravel doesn't have near the charisma or the smarts that Ron Paul has. He isn't nearly as popular and he doesn't have a chance.

Mike Gravel is running 1% in all polls right now....Ron Paul, running 1 and 2% in all the polls right now. Ron isnt anymore popular with the people
wesishot 4 years ago 2
People spend too much damn time looking at polls, they need to go seek the truth & answers themselves. If you think Gravel meets these qualities then YOU MUST give all the support you can give by spreading the word, using the internet, the phones, the mail and the streets. THE MEDIA WON'T DO IT FOR YOU. And Mike won't rely on big business to put him in office, it's up to the people to make REAL change!
uterfan 4 years ago 3
You don't think they would rig the elections to make it seem as if the polls were right? They did it in the last election what would stop them from doing it this time? Nevermind, rhetorical question.
DoctorSensitive 4 years ago
Ron Paul - charisma - what a joke! Gravel is about 3 times as smart as Paul. He would be more popular if the media would let him be heard. American people are the ones who decide who has a chance not you. If the sheeple vote for mainstream candidates, that's their fault. Why doesn't Paul debate Gravel? He's afraid.

Mike Gravel could easily turn this Republican into a Democrat if he comes away with the Democratic nomination. This guy is down to earth and very electable in middle America. Ron Paul and Mike Gravel should form a pact that if either becomes their parties nominee, the other would be vice-president.

TexasRounder 4 years ago
Actually I might have spoken a little too soon. This guys still wants to through lots of money into the Mideast. He still sound's like a good guy but he is far way away still from Paul's constitutional, non-entanglement, foreign policy. Solving the Mideast's problems is not our business, and if we get out of the way-- stop subsidizing Israel for example, they may just be able to solve their own problems.
TexasRounder 4 years ago
When go in illegally and invade a soveriegn national, you sort of made our business. We have a responsibility to repair the damage we did. And what is exactly Paul's plan to get out of Iraq. I dont here that.
truthout911 4 years ago
You should learn a little about the Mideast. For one thing there never was an "Iraq" except the British, by some magical colonial power, said so and Kings and dictators agreed. Granted some sense of national identity, particularly among the middle class, did developed over those 70 or so years, but most of those people have fled. What is left are three well defined tribal groups who all want their own state.
TexasRounder 4 years ago
The real problem is how are the national resources going to be divided. In any event to presently it is being looted by U.S. corporations, and the only people who have the will to stay in the Iraq are those who are getting richer by doing so. The Iraqis want us out, and isn't that what "Iraqi" freedom is all about-- what they want?
TexasRounder 4 years ago
You should have told your repub leaders to learn about the middle east. Those things I am well aware, but are you aware that Iran had a democracy in place and in 1952 we came in and destroyed. We had no business being over their, but we have a monterary obligation to help fix it.
truthout911 4 years ago
Fix what, exactly?
TexasRounder 4 years ago
what the Bush nazi admin has done by invading Irag.
truthout911 4 years ago
Which is what... exactly?
TexasRounder 4 years ago
destroying their middle class, installing a puppet govt. Making it deadlier for anyone to step outside their house. Practically no water or electricity running, breaking our military and theirs. 655000 plus dead Iraqis, thousands of troops dead. Shall I go on or are you just being a smartass.
truthout911 4 years ago
no I am not being a smartass, but your tone comes across as somewhat hysterical, and I wasn't positive about what to which you are referring. I tell what we don't need is more Mideast foreign policy driving by hysteria-- these poor people have suffered enough.
TexasRounder 4 years ago
I am not so sure it is fair to say we destroyed the "Iraqi" middle class. I mean we aren't responsible for the dynamic tribal tensions that exist there. It might be more fair to say the Middle class hasn't been able to survive the removable of the Bath party because of the tensions. And as tragic as all the death has been there is nothing we can do about that now.
TexasRounder 4 years ago
I am still confused, however, about what you're advocating. Is it that the U.S. prop up another authoritarian regime to replace the Bath party? Exactly how do you think the U.S. can help address any of those issues except by leaving and thereby ceasing to be an agitating element to difficulties faced by the Sunni's, Shiites' and Kurds in the area?
TexasRounder 4 years ago
What do you call over 2 million people who leave fled the country were part of the middle class. College educated people, doctors, business owners. We cant do anything about the ones who have died, but we can prevent further deaths, by getting the hell out of there, pay them for the chaos that we caused and let them to theirselves.
truthout911 4 years ago
How about we just stop looting their natural resources. I am all for that. Anyway, pay who the Sunnis, the Shiites, the Kurds? Maybe we should come up some type of scale cause you know that's always fair. But again I reiterate I disagree that it's fair to say we caused the chaos which always existed latently and was only held in check by an authoritarian government.
TexasRounder 4 years ago
And going in didnt help the situation. It is fair to say it, and you need to accept it. Unpleasant facts are not easy to face.
truthout911 4 years ago
Weird, I realize that there are a lot of typos and erroneous words because of left/right brain conflict and/or not paying attention to what word had actually been selected in spell check, but I don't think you understood anything I've said. I've always thought Iraq was both a strategic and tactical mistake, and I never supported the war. Here I've only been challenging your position that money can some how solve the problems in the Mideast. Maybe you should read my comments again.
TexasRounder 4 years ago
I have read your post from the begining. I am not saying money is the end all solution to the problems over there, but it is a start. After all this criminal enterprise went over there after the oil in the first place. Also to set up puppet govt to loot and steal.
truthout911 4 years ago
If we went to Iraq for the oil, shouldn't gas prices be lower right now? The fact is we get but 1% of our oil from Iraq. Doesn't really make a dent.
swakachi 4 years ago
No, the high gas prices are both a reflection of the markets concern over crude oil distribution, and the refining capacity to actually make the gas out of that crude oil. Plus it is a misnomer to think that going to Iraq for the oil means helping the U.S. consumer. What it means is that U.S. companies control and profit from the control of those resources. This may help our economy as a whole, but it doesn't necessarily reduce the price of gas.
TexasRounder 4 years ago
LOL. Look at the campaigns and where they get their money from.
truthout911 4 years ago
But you still haven't answered the question who'd we even give the money too. Do we give it to the Kurds, Sunnis or Shiites? I suggest, and this is also Ron Paul's position, that we just get out the way and give them a chance to solve their own problems, which in then end we didn't create. These problems were only kept in check by the strong hand of Saddam Hussein.
TexasRounder 4 years ago
All three groups have been effected. So to all of them. This admin have committed genaside over there. There is no two ways about it.
