No this is real. I've watched this series like 5 times and there are parts in the trailer that weren't in the show. Check out 1:07 you can clearly see Eureka holding a gun to someones head. I'm assumeing the movie either has flashbacks or they just put the series footage in.

Kind of lame that it´s not a continuation to the series. Though there wasn´t rly much to continue. And in the manga eureka dies, though renton says that he thinks he´ll see eureka again so they could´ve made the movie to tell about what happens after manga. These kind of "OVA:s" or movies which have no relation to the anime-storyline are pretty boring and lame. This is like one of the episodes in Neon Genesis Evangelion where they picture how things/world could´ve been.

yea but they left it open ended i mean they ended the series off with Al and Ed talking to themselves saying "One day we will be together again." So there was more to add after the series with a movie. But, with E7 they didn't really leave much to add all they could add is some scenes showing Eureka and Renton reuniting with their family/friends and that's about it which would be pretty boring in my opinion.

From what I understand of the new canon that's presented in the movie, I really like the reinterpretation. In a way, I would have liked a pure sequel, but I can enjoy this reinterpretation as well.

This series was an emotional roller coaster up until the end (which hopefully you didn't see for the first time on adultswim, due to the butchering). I can say this...when I hear the symphonic build at 1:10, I fear that - to quote Bartok the Bat from Anastasia - "This can only end in tears!"

Well, it looks great. But you do notice the color difference and minor style changes. This was made in HD, you can tell from how smooth the colors are and how the lines are so straight.

O, and for a little spoiler, it appears it will have a similar ending to the Manga. how can you tell? Because there is a scene where Renton looses Eureka hand and she disappears. Anyway, it will be a interesting re-make no doubt.

Im a little disappointed because I was hoping for a conclusion movie that gives some closure to the end of the anime like with FMA, but this should be interesting anyway...
