you are right, it was the 3rd week in may (week of easter) we where vivsiting our son for the holidays, i loved it, north of lske ponchatrain had a 10th of an inch of snow this week, 1st time it snowed in southeast louisiana in the december, that's why it was amazing to see even that much snow
Late May!!! That is incredible!! Is this unusual or normal for the time of year? I live in Oregon and by this time of year, it could be quite warm. We rarely see snow anymore, even in Dec/Jan.
@plutonium9 don't know, from new orleans visiting marquette, i can tell you there is no snow in new orleans in may, we usual have flooding rains that time of year
never had a chance to be there in summer my son went to coast guard station marquette in nov. 2007 and was transferred to coast guard station galveston 4 weeks after this video was taken in feb. 2008
been there, done that, when your from louisisana what you call spring is 100 times more than what i saw in in my whole life in new orleans, my son was at uscg station marquette doing ice rescues. and i was up ther in october, january, march and april, it is a beautiful place, love lagniappe restaurant
The biggest snowbelt in the United States would be the snowbelt in the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan, near the cities of Houghton, Marquette, and Munising. These areas average over 250-300 inches a year.

Yeah, that day is probably in early May. Our average snowfall is about 175 inches a year. For us, that is late spring. lol
