  • The pilot and airtraffic control are so, so cool. Thank God for them

  • i bet iraq sent that bird

  • NICE !

  • cooked bird

  • That pilot had some serious balls.

  • @jwm05281971 Yea nice comment !

  • Love Simon Lowe! :)

  • Hi guys

  • The video would have been even better if it would say: Boeing 757 'Justin Bieber' strike

  • that bird got owned

  • That bird was in the wrong place and the wrong time!

  • I was on a flight back to Canada from Holland when early on in the flight that happened. We had to turn around, go back to an airport in Holland and wait in the plane for hours before leaving again.

  • om nom nom

  • lol world's first accidental flamethrower

  • poor birdie

  • Mayday mayday mayday there was a big fucking bird who just went into my engine.

  • did the bird die?

  • @thekinaesthetic Seriously?

  • @nathan11151989 do you think so?

  • freakin pilots are all calm collected and in friggin control that the air traffic controller just agrees

  • at 5:32 it lands

  • thats how mcdonalds make their chicken nuggets

  • those 9/11 terrorist guys are taking their chances of crashing another plane

  • why isnt there some type of wire mesh or something that blocked birds and debris from entering the engine but doesnt effect how much air the engine sucks in because we've been having this problem for the last 100 years for shit sakes

  • @Lukeschedel Any kind of wire mesh in front of the engine couldn't be anywhere near strong enough to handle the immense suction. Placing anything like that in front of the engines would also contribute to air resistance. The air is rushing into, and is being pulled into, the engines at very high speed.

  • Atleast is was a quick death..o.O

  • wow 1 bird can put down a plane like that

  • What type of plane is this? 737?

  • i wish that cats had wings.. the world could do with less cats.

  • @selltoronto also with less morons like you the world could do.

  • @Alda1981 your just jealous cuz you didn't think of it first.

  • Lol, I love how it's just like *floof* and it's gone.

  • Are planes not protected against fucking stupid birds , what if they flew through a whole flock?

  • The terrorists are innocent!

  • Should have a Falconer working the airport.

  • did the bird evolve to a big bird?

  • looks like the plane had some bad beans

  • i would be so scared if i was on that plane

  • fucking iraqey bird

  • @brian8353 iraqey???

  • That is a good way to go out..

  • uk takes so many birds lives, with tennis balls and planes, its terrible

  • @bearhaulin120 ROFL :DDD

did u got here from the same video as i did? xD

  • @SpeedMjam maybe

  • Such great engineers have designed this air craft, why didn't even one of them thought of adding a light weight space craft alloy cross mesh infront of the turbines? We all know we have debri on the road when we drive, and so it obstacles in the air.

  • @bkpaal because if it broke...your light weight space craft alloy cross mesh would become the same thing as the bird but god forbid it broke on both sides at the same time.....thanks anyway!!! I will stick with the bird and one engine

  • @twoxland -- That cannot be an assumption and be marked as a failure. According to your comment, basically anything could break off the plane(wing, engine itself...). If it is properly tested i believe this can be a solution to this fly by bird issue. You stick with the bird and one or zero engines, i will stay on the ground.

  • @bkpaal cause it would affect airflow and probably the cost of retrofitting, still it's a good idea though

  • @bkpaal the loss in efficiency far outweights a very very occasional birdstrike, planes are ok with only 1 engine as shown here

  • Talk about keeping your cool, he couldnt sound more relaxed

  • @TheSimonHarris true. something tells me the dude likeely went through the same thing in the past. just saying.

  • great pilot

  • too bad for the bird

  • lol a small bird like that bringing down the big bird

  • wat a horrible dead

  • I remember that day thought the flipin plane was gonna land on ma head and then i was wetting ma myself not wanting to go out side

  • that bird was running from randy johnson

  • Damn Cool Video Man.

  • agreed the pilots handled the situation beautifully

@houshidar558 a plane can fly with 1 engine not a problem but the cannot take off with 1 engine, they require a stupid speed of something like 900 kilometers an hour to get off the ground and they cannot get to that speed on one engine, though i'm not sure of the exact take off speed.

  • @lordseriah sorry, but it's nowhere near 900km/h. It's closer to 350-400km/h :)

  • @jcadlols 300

  • i wouldnt be scared if i was on it simple the pilot maydays for emegency landing and the aircraft can run on 1 engine they turn of the damaged one lol poor bird tho :o

  • thank god for professional pilots that remain so calm in the face of adversity

  • @ADAIVI i know a living bird died nothing cool. but its still FUCKIN AWESOME

  • PASSARO ENVIADO POR BIN LADEN

  • Poor 757

  • That plane had some serious cams.

  • I bet the pilot ait the bird after he landed

  • i feel sorry about the plane it hert its wing i bet it has to wear a sling now

  • Backfire lol

  • look at that. planes can now cook bird out side of the cabin.wow

  • poor little birdie

  • hahahah i love the way one bird causes so much damage

  • is it just a cuencidence that someone just happend to pic the airplane when it happend?

  • Damn you ORBITZ!!!!!

  • that bird must be a " terrorists " i guest :-)

  • I probably would have died if i had window and had seen the engine flaming. wow

  • shit! thats a horrible way to die!

  • hahahahahaha bom bom bom bom bom bom

  • good radio communication. Tower was good.

  • The passengers nearest to the wing must have been like, shitting themselves lol

  • pum pum pum pum.. Mayday xD

  • that bird MUST have been an islamic extremist!

  • Fuk sake, Imagine you saved up all year to go on holiday and you had that window seat,,,,,Flames shooting out :0

  • y dose the bird have to fly where the damn plane is? that much noice and the bird just "look a thing that flys! whana be friends SPLAT uhhhh" or what?

  • poor bird

  • R.I.P birdie...

  • That was a really well job done by both the pilots and ground crew! Thumbs up! (:

  • lol

  • i love how one of the windows is closed.. its like i saw the gremlin fuck our engine im not looking to see whatever else is on the wing

  • This made me hungry.

  • nizino how old r u? 5

  • LOL

  • and that's how kfc is made !

  • Thompson Fried Chicken

    Bargain bucket for just £2.99

  • silly birdy! thought he was a plane!

    birds arnt planes!

    silly birdy!

  • As a crew chief who has had to rebuild an engine after ingesting a bird all I have to say is ... NASTY. You wouldn't believe the mess stink that will be waiting some poor soul in there. LOL

  • @blackhawkdoc64 i do,my friends father is a engineer who works for an italian airline....is ansty what iu can find after something like that...

  • manchester!

  • hmmm crispy duck. lovely

  • @buyzep5 no lol that was the enigine burning

    the bird was only shredded

  • R.I.P birdie i feel so sorry for that por little feller

  • there is nothing cool about this video, because, a living thiing has died, you should all feel sorry for this creature that allows us to live the way we do. RIP birdie...

Now i gotta finish eating chicken sandwich. :)

  • @ADAIVl lol

  • @ADAIVl haha I was gonna call you such a gay. Until I actually read the whole comment. NOICE

  • @ADAIVl its different tha chicken you eat was killed for a reason your survival

    this birdie died for nothing

Now i m going to shoot some birds for fun...

  • @ADAIVl The birds alrirght if you watch it backwads. now im gonna go and punch a parrot

  • @ADAIVl if the bird wasnt to stupid to go there

  • Everyone is so cool about it- great!

  • i LOL'd at that.

  • @gio31brasil Lame....

  • they need to put a guard over the engine

  • Jet engines work by letting air in. Putting a guard over the engine would impede its performance.

  • R.I.P. bird.

And what do they mean by "bird debris on the runway"? How can anything remain from a bird that goes through an engine?

  • dunno, maybe slight remains of feathers or bones, i guess feathers could blow up into the windscreen and distract the pilots but otherwise idk

  • U know why they landed, cuz they wanted the BIG BBQ party of the grildd chiken

  • Comment removed

  • i bet you iraq sent that bird

  • @sjlaxer12 XD WTF!

  • aussies lol sound funny, but no effence i wish i can talk like that.

  • There not aussie, the pilot and ATC are English, this is northern England

  • ahh they sound alike

  • Do they use a different emergency squawk code in the UK? They use 1200 here.

    Just curious

  • Most passengers probably shat their pants, lol

  • Got that right, but wouldnt you?

  • of course ;p

  • how should i say it?...... if the bird had a pizza dough with it the pilot would have a perfect bird pizza!

  • bird kinda exploded?

  • from now, birds are terrorist!!!

    hahaha...

  • lol how is it birds fault at all, its in its natural habitat, its like if you hit a whale with a boat or run over a cat etc lol bad case of wrong place wrong time

  • jet engine are designed to take a bird hit or two, whats going on here

  • I think youv've answered your own question. They are designed to take a bird hit or two. Remember the plane in the river in New York, not very long ago. That was also damaged by a multiple bird hit.

  • jet engines are not designed to take bird hits, they have a series of rotors, if you knock even one of the fins out of shape it will throw the whole engine into a massive vibration due to it being thrown out of balance, and much like a combustion engine once its out of balance everything starts failing piece by piece

  • after doing some research i was wrong even the latest royal royce jet engines will have problems with a bird passing through it. I thing we an close the case on this one

  • Loosing all that money, all because of a brainless bird.

  • are people seriously blaming this on the pilots? SERIOUSLY?

  • thats youtube folks for you

  • talk about great professionalism from both the pilots and the tower. It's very comforting to know that they fucking rock.. calm, cool, collected, fast and efficient, in the face of some serious shit.

  • bet that bird lived

  • god the passengers on the plane must have been so fucking scared...

  • yeah imagine looking out the window and all you see are flames spitting out of the engines

  • would be just awful...

  • I saw a KC-10 take a plastic bag.... it just spat out little chars.. and kept going...

  • Poor Bird

  • LMFAO *DB8ed*

  • If the Bird Hit the Left engine then they would of lots powered Avionics, Power, and about half of their instruments.

  • turbo fan jet engines have many fan blades spinning under intense heat at high rpms. A bird that is big enough and sucked in can damage an engine definitely.

  • no it would ....you see the bird probably got stuck and clogged something which changed the amount of pressure the engine is used to which increased the heat leading to back fire in the engine..and yes this engine spins so fast you can even imagine it...its a turbine for crying out loud :D..

  • i think youre a fucking idiot. but thats just my opinion

  • oh your hard arnt you

  • it would look at the hudson river one

  • did the the bird live

  • What do you think? Sucked into a jet engine... He might have... or not *fire flailing out of the engine*

  • i think no....

  • rofl did the bird live? dude

u dont care of ppl lived? lmao

  • Yea I was the pilot. No wait, let me think of a better lie. I was the bird.

Whats the point of claiming something incredible in a youtube comment. 1st of all, no one knows who you really are, so even if it was true, no one would care anyway because you're comment exists in the same dimension of the video. Secondly, we have no way of discerning fact from fiction, in which case we either take your word for it, or we decide you're a liar.

  • yeah hes going to fast

  • ace video, the post strike audio is fabtastic

  • TERREST BRIDS NOW CHARNGING AT PLANES SUICIDE BRIDS AT 0:35 SEC YOU HEAR THE BRIDS SAYING LONG LIVE AGHLA NEXT THING YOU KNOW YOUR WALKING DOWN THE STREET YOU SHO AWAY A BRID AND HE POPS OUT AN RPG AND TELLS YOU TO RUN YUR SHI x]

  • Its spelt allah...

    good one though

  • that pilot is damn good! he didn't panic at all and he landed it perfectly!

  • Chicken anyone?

  • BIRD GOT T0ASTED

  • that was horrible poor bird

  • thats a hell of a good pilot, he had to shut down the port side engine, the FAA requires all planes that hit birds to land

  • Manchester Ringway Int'l Airport, UK.

Ya think the FAA has jursdiction here, mate?

  • man they got lucky if that port side engine went out theyd be fucked

  • Stop lying fag cunt
