  • IT SO GOOOOD

  • OMG!!!!! Cold chills with this. DAY-UM, as we say here in the South!

  • Good!!!! Respect!!!

  • Trombone is apparently only one of about sixty thousand different instruments James plays. You'd think that would mean he's not really superb at it, but you'd be wrong.

  • deam it!!! So good, excellent!!! yeahhh (8)

  • animal

  • yyyeeeaaahh....i like the music and the musician too

  • yyyeeeaaahh....i like the music and the musician too

  • superb!!!

  • amazing player...

  • no drums, no piano, cool!!

  • never heard James Muller and Phil Stack sound so good!!

  • @scotttinkler

I'm going to the plastic surgeon to see what they can do about fixing mine now.

  • aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh......my face got melted.........aaaaahhhhhhhhh

  • Wow !!

These guys should be on "Treme" next season.

  • allot of raw talent there,, good old ragtime, sounds like allot of fun

  • it's great that there is no drumer and they can keep a consistant rhythm

  • @Dreadmonkey1 Musicians keep time in spite of drummers, not because of them.

  • thanks a ton! I've played versions of it before. Nothing like this though. I'll work towards it. Thank you for the name!

  • What is this song called?

  • sweet

  • Love this work... Fantastic - thanks for the inspiration Ian!

  • Class!

  • Just awesome that a boneplayer and violin player is improvising at same tempo :P

  • o my freakin gooooood James is the freakin greatest!! So sad that my favorite trombone player is actually a trumpet player xD

  • :O jesusss, thats crazy good, especially the bone playing! im doing my grade 8 on both of these instruments but these guys are incredible!! actually unreal!

  • extremely awesome!

  • Grapelli did a fantastic version with Grisman. Check it out.

  • this= love

  • so much flava.

  • woah! sick trombone solo

  • @qead0828 i really thought it's a trumpet

  • Great way to start the day.

  • amazingg where can i found jazz music for violin??tanks

  • Aw my.. this is awesome! <3

  • dude, that's the sweetest shiz ever

  • You are allowed to show off if you have skill, it's entertaining, why would u get up there and play at half your capacity? because playing really skillfully might be showing off?

Wow, I can't believe what people write on youtube sometimes. Hats off To Morrison. And to this mean fiddler.

  • esta chido!.......good!

  • liked the trombone ending

  • :O:O:O:O

what do you mean the fiddle isnt as good?! i play brass and YES james morrison is amazing, but Ian is just as good in this video, unless you can play better, dont critisise an amazing musician. brilliant stuff from both of them.

james never seems to lower his playing standard for anything.

btw i'd jsut like to say, even if he is showing off a bit wtf is wrong with that? if you have skills and talent... USE IT! i dont see why he should hold back from any less then he is capable of.

  • OK fiddle but Morrison is on a level of his own.

  • very nice and smooth

Notice the barcusberry pickup on the violin nice sound. I am glad to see acousic violin still being used these days.

Any suggestion how to learn jazz violin besides playing scales and classical music. I can play by ear, and know cord progressions

  • He makes Jack Teagarden look like a novice. Tone is unbeatable. The commit that the fiddle swings more, proves that he's never played a trombone.

  • Hm. I love that different mode they go into at 2:16...And I really don't think Morrison is showing off here...He seems pretty in to it, and that's how he normally plays anyway; he's just a monster.

  • the fiddle could swing more..but morrison is amazing..

  • just amazing.... speechless....

  • johnsonbebig / /you are right on/ / its talent and show business /

  • django reinhardt would love this / /wow . .you all swing double tempo / /jerry

  • Trombone has monster chops, great timbre and intonation. Violin is virtuoso jazz, entire ensemble is first class.

  • Dynomite!

  • nah it was a nice arrangement thats just how the big boys play ...

  • yo i wish people like you would just not type. man if you dont like whats being played just move on to the next video. dont come on here with your nose stuck the hell up like you can do better and even if you could, your cocky ass needs to post up or shut up!

  • Just my thoughts on it. Eg: "Comment" - the world would be a boring place were everyones Comments the same. Not a slur at all, though, as said, I am enthralled with how well these guys played, just the arrangement is too powerful for me. Apologies for any offence caused johnsonbebig

  • Showing off is one of the things musicians are about :P

  • Hey these guys are just good like it or not.

If you think the trombone player is showing off you need to see him play his trumpet or any other instrument he feels like playing that day.

  • I totally agree with you man, maybe I worded my comment wrong to the other guys. I think you sum it up well "These guys are good like it or not" and again totally agree with you that live, it would be absolutely exhilarating to watch and be a part of. Also agree with SoDingMop about showing off - perhaps they are in fact "Too Good" for me?

    Apologies for any offence caused

  • I think this is called showmanship and if you were viewing them live it would make great viewing however i do understand where you are coming from. Shredding can get in the way of the music but they played really well.

  • Never heard trombone played that fast, although I met Ian Cooper in person and have signed copies of 2 of his CDs, and I'm hopefully going to meet James Morrison later this year

  • Do these guys ever play in the states?

  • What song is it?????

  • Sweet Georgia Brown

  • nice fiddling he sounds real jazzy bebop style so does Morrison these guys are real masters of this lol that wholetone thing halfway through's all good

  • I like Ians approach, it's unique, especially his sense of timing

  • truly amazing...

  • Two minutes in... Super outside stuff, the tops... Blown away...

  • wooow cool

  • Morrison's a FREAK!! excellent vid!

  • I WENT TO HIS CONSET!!!

  • You should consider an English class as well

  • bitch!!! aha, good call

  • why does he always wear that funny blue jacket? (the fiddle bloke - Ian - I mean)

  • Awesome playing! Subbed for sure, I wish I could play like that!

  • What a pleasure...virtuosoS that improvise with real jazz phrases..Le Hot Club de Australie!! GREAT!!!!

  • Awesome as usual. James' first instrument was actually the trombone. He's better known for his trumpet playing though. Always impressive!

  • Love it!

  • Another great performance from james morrison on trombone, theres very few who are close to his skill. And i love the jazz fiddle.

  • Its an even better Trombone solo when you consider his first instrument is Trumpet!

  • solid

  • wow that trombonist was mad SICK! haha

    violin player was good too

  • absolute 5star top from jimmy tenerife!

  • Not bad fiddlin ... for a man

  • Superb playing, love the improv, beautiful sounds, will check for more videos from you....

  • Great imagination, technique, and sound. A pleasure.

  • affascinante direi, bravi!

  • omg .. far out, he is an absolute legend. how good is the tone in his playing

  • thaT trombone solo was so good it hurt!...i play trombone ....it scares me to think how long it took the trombone player to play that comfortably!

  • thats great where ya trade that arpeggio run with James. Sounds like great fun

  • Very slick indeed

  • i like your whole tone bit
