Shoot all the versions are so different there is no telling how it all realli happend especially cause it was all so many years ago. its funny you think they would have acted a little less pompus about getting the library and rest of town burning like that . LOL Some say her Brother Did that shit

  • how many times did they pronounce for the time being?

  • Oooo

  • Egyptian mobs have reportedly started to burn their country's libraries. History comes full circle.

  • i love how she is tackeling the guy holding her but once he puts her down she becomes eligant! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • teehee she is amazing. and a good actor!

  • @KATROSE92 lmao my bad I was kind of drunk when I wrote it.. and that's what I meant.

  • @peymaania moron

  • i needed to see this scene again it came to my mind right away when barbarian british destroyed the summer palace in China in order to make the chinese imperial government submit. It seems like a patern with barbarian people to destroy art, history, monutems or all

  • That handmaiden certainly didn't mind being kissed.

  • seizure: you grow more beautiful every time I see you

Cleopatra: you grow more balder everytime I see you

    Lmfao!

  • @TheClaira2000 umm you meant Caesar right?

  • @KATROSE92 haha, i prefer seizure, classic!!!

  • Elizabeth Taylor was breathtaking in this film but I wish they'd zoned in on yummy little Francesca Annis a little more.

  • @ annie57g I do agree with you still the actress that I've mentioned also have capabilities

  • @ glee4ever28 It would have been a Chinese dish for sure and chopsticks have brought in by the courtesy of ALITALIA

  • wonder how will it be if Angelina Jolly happen to replace Liz

  • @jayalakmini nobody can ever replace liz taylor.

  • @jayalakmini not gonna happen

  • Elizabeth Taylor is the tailor made model and closest beauty and sad that we've lost her by now

  • how often did the seizures occur?

  • @annemolly57 Hail Seizure! I dunno exactly, but I don't think they were regular occurrences.

  • Thats how you know of someone of epic importance to leave or enter his presence you must recite Hail Ceasar too bad there is no more of that honor these days

  • @mattsmt20 Who wants that type of honor? I'm against autocratic praising anyways.

  • Classic!

She is the most beautiful version of Cleopatra.

  • @SolKiLittleSun and for sure she is more beautiful than the "original version" haha

  • she was tucked like a baby by a soldier then she quickly stand and walk like a sophisticated and elegant queen...wow how impressive!

  • This I think is Cleopatra's best scene cuz it showa her true grit! She stood in that room with some of the most powerful men in the world and said watever the hell she felt like! she ddnt giv a shit she straight up put Julius Ceasar on blast without blinking.

  • if there was harm in the food as she says wouldn't it take a few days for her to die ..... ???

  • @Licmycat yea I know! I haven't found a few that I wanted there.

  • I knew it! I knew it! One of the first things the war hogs destroy is the housing of knowledge: Libraries....(I think that's why a LOT of community books are missing here in Okla. city.)

  • ohhh he got cleopatra pissed

  • i was so happy when the guy dies hes so annoying

  • 5:27 to 5:30? I don't get it.

  • her bed looks cozy

  • ..."THE BOOK of BOOKS..."

    LOLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO!!!!~

  • Caesar is a fuckin PIMP hahaha.

  • @9:39, "Wipe out cities..." e.g. Libya which means "Book of God" or "Equalibrium of Divinity" sound familiar?

  • R.I.P. Elizabeth Taylor.

  • Haha. Love how she puts on a whole show and then says "Oh, its you"

  • "The Great Librrrary"

  • Cleopatra had such formidable courage!

  • In Spain, Caesar saw a statue of Alexander and wept then too.

  • 0:55, why are all these man servants gay? LOL her brother also has one, the one who spoke for him in pink and blue XD

  • how the Egyptians nd romans communicate each other if they had a total diff lang?

  • @Gingie4life Cleopatra was actually the first in the Ptolemy line to speak the native language of Egypt. They mostly spoke Greek, I believe. And Cleopatra knew Latin, and others, as well.

  • how the Egyptians nd romans communicate each other if they had a total diff lang

  • there was no way they'd have a blond servant back then, damn 60's!

  • @sweethaert12 Blondes were rare in the ancient Mediterranean and highly prized. Helen of Troy was blonde according to legend and other accounts of her story.

  • nooo the platonic commentaries! the book of books! wwwhhhyyyyyy!

  • LOL 2:30 "Oh, it's you."

  • Save the library! All that knowledge ,going up in flame!

  • @Elizabeththegreatest It's sad the library and its contents are lost forever.

  • @HistoryLover1550 Yeah ,it's not fair! Knowledge is truly power!

  • @Elizabeththegreatest In Alexandria knowledge was just as valuable as Grain and Gold. Knowledge is the greatest power above all!

  • romans burn't the great library in alexandria? Hmm...if that's true you can garantee most of those books are buried deep in the extensive vaults below the vatican.

  • @tonee127 I recommend you watch the movie "Agora" about the Serapeum and Hypatia of Alexandria.

  • Hello, I'm looking for a scene of pyramids building. Is there any in Cleopatra 1963? If so, in which part? Any help is very much appreciated!

  • @chalumeaus

The Pyramid building period was long before this time in Egyptian history.

  • @MrJohanasBilderberg Right, by the time of Cleopatra the Pyramids were thousands of years old and out of style.

  • @chalumeaus The pyramids were built during the Old Kingdom, its height during the 4th Dyn. when the pyramids at Giza were built (this movie is set in the late kingdom). I suggest looking up the "internal ramp theory" with you want most promising theory as to how the pyramids were constructed

  • Elizabeth reminds me so much of my mother. After seeing this show i now understand why so many tell me of their resemblance. Freaky.

  • These sets were far to elaborate.

  • Thank you for posting this spectacular movie. I remember it from my youth and am very happy to see it again in all it's splendor. This was perhaps the formost 'big budget film' of it's day. It is easy to see why Elisebeth Taylor was so well paid. Ahhh, the splendors of Eliz..... er, I meant Egypt!

  • noooo the libraryyyy!!

  • why didnt she stop his old ugly wrinkly ass from touching or kissing her???? I would NEVER let a man touch me that way eck

  • @Leefonzell Yeah, but back then if you were a woman and stopped a man from doing something, you were usually beaten as punishment. At best you'd get a stern reprimand.

  • @Yermog thats bullshit!!!!!

  • @Leefonzell Um... no, not really. Go read any book about relationships and status of women back in those times.

  • @Yermog i dont mean that i disagree, Im saying that its not right lol, but thats obvious that its not right.

  • it's crazy watching elizabeth taylor like this because the last movie i watched that she was in was national velvet.

  • great classic film. the best.

  • That library had many books we know nothing about. But Joseph (of the many colored coats, yeah that one) his writings while in prison were housed there.

The Bible (among other histories) would have had more between the covers

if the Roman's weren't so sloppy in their arson.

  • @blackiemittens the bible would of had more between it's covers if it wasn't for the council of Nicea ... read some real history ..... while you are at it read the gnostic gospels, the dead sea scrolls, and the nag hammadi library

  • @fbvamp

Been there done that. Don't know what the 'gnostic' gospels are though. No one knows how the full gospels would have been if they'd come down to us without

    centuries of 'editing.'

  • the great libraary:L

  • the romans really burnt the library? that sucks :(

  • @diablitoo86 Not all of it...

  • @diablitoo86 --- the library wasn't burned on purpose. And, to be honest, the destruction of the Great Library was a process which took many years (aided and abetted by a variety of factors).

  • @Setebos thanks. still sucks we could learn so much from them :(

  • @Setebos That's right, plus the daughter library in the Serapeum was hit by the Christians and then the Muslims who destroyed the surviving contents. Watch the movie "Agora' about that, its really good!

  • There is no way Sosigenes possibly said that the testament of the Hebrew god is .... the book of books.

    Filthy, disgusting propaganda for idiots.

  • @Megalommatis --- perhaps he didn't. I always felt that his comment concerning "The Book of Books" was referring to something separate than his preceding comment on the "Hebrew testaments".

  • HAHAHAHA...

Servant: "Myyy desiiire to pleeease cesar is my..."

    Cleopatra: "Be stilled!"...

    the best

  • "Have you broken out of your nursery, young lady, to come and irritate the adults?"

    LOL!

  • Her skin is amazing!

  • So is his.

  • @claremcq

    And her nose!

  • 'you grow balder'.

    LOL

  • i like when she attacks the guards and they won't her in

  • I love it when the handmaiden flips the

    wrap over her tush!!

  • @piscean60 lol ya!

  • for the time being

  • I love that she attacks the guards when they won't let her in. I'm gay and I do what SonicManipulation did when I see her too.
