I think sometimes men marry for a women's title. Danielle father could have been new money I guess you could say. His name wasn't as well know as the stepmother. So the stepmother married for money because she didn't have any. And the father married her for her name. Since Danielle isn't blood she cant claim the Stepmothers name unless, the Stepmother has to claim Danielle so she can be noble blood. I THINK. That the deal.
