Port Orleans Riverside is our home away from home. You really did capture the essence of the resort. This is one of my ALL TIME favorite videos on YouTube.
GREAT VIDEO! We love Disney Resorts! If you'd like to see why, here are our Top 10 Reasons to stay in one: dluminations.blogspot.com/2011/07/resorts-top-10-reasons-to-stay.html
I love this video. You did a great job on it. Love the music too! Port Orleans is one of my favorite places in the whole world. Watching this video brings back so many happy memories.
You wouldn't happen to know what happened to the water at this resort would you? I was there last summer and the water was completely black - it was quite sad to see the water so incredibly dirty. I recall the first time I stayed at this resort the water looked fairly clean and there were so many wild animals (ducks, rabbits, etc) all over the place. There were no wild creatures to be seen...they even removed the duck food dispenser machine. What happened??
I wish I could go NOW! My husband & I had planned for a Disney World honeymoon & had choses Port Orleans-Riverside for our hotel, but we had to postpone the honeymoon til 3 months after the wedding since we had to wait for hubby to get his US visa. Right before we booked our plane tickets we found out about my pregnancy with our twin boys, so we decided to postpone the trip (again). Hopefully we'll be good to go by the end of this year. Thanks for this video.. it kinda cured my Disney ache :)
@hotone23 Yeah, I don't think I'd be able to pull it off now since I haven't worked 3rd shift in nearly three years. But at the time, I was up and runnin' every morning by 4:00.
We did our 2nd year in a row here...2 crazy adults. Had a BLLLASST...I love the as much as you can drink HI-C on the meal plan!!!! Goes nice with a cigar and rainy day..hehehe
EDNFAMILY from the UK...hi, we have stayed at Riverside twice NOWHERE else like it and cant wait to go back in November 2010 even the price of around$7,600 Dollars WITHOUT spending money is WELL worth it.....
ive never been here but it looks real nice but how is the food court nd the busses nd is it far from the parks i know its close to downtown disney nd epcot nd also do u have stand alot on the busses cuz its such a huge hotel?
food court is big! Also as this is two resorts in one each has its own food court. Lots of different sections for different foods. Does get busy in the mornings around half 8-9. Me and my family tend to go around 8:00 when its relaxed. Staff very helpful.
Buses can get busy however the bus drivers send more buses to come if its busy, so you never have to wait to long.
oh and its not far from the parks at all. Think its about 10-20 minutes from the magic kingdom and animal kingdom which are the longest away depending on traffic.
oh i always thot it was far but my family doesnt really want to stay here only me nd my mom think it looks nice i want to stay here but i rather stay at caribbean beach first, but if i go next yr were guna try to stay at the beach club if not then caribbean beach or wilderness lodge
You can jump a boat from here to Downtown! Really fun way to travel. Looks like everyone else covered the rest. My Lady and I are in our 30's and stay here often. Nice Riverwalk way and very relaxed southern charm. Disney really caught it here. Also the water fall at the Ole Man River pool drowns out noise and is a great spot to read or tip one back!
i go here every year the food at the port orleans resort lobby/cafeteria is sooooo good i mean you wouldnt believe it there are buses going in and out all the time i mean at the longest wait 5-10 minutes and yes you can actually ride a little boat to down town disney
Heey, I have just been reading you're comments, and some are saying that Space Mountin will be shut, I am going to florida in 21 days, and that is my favourite ride, and I was just wondering if it is actully gonna be shut, and is so, why?
im 20 and ive been to disney every year since birth and this has to be my favorite hotel EVER! :) im goin in 25 days. im seriously counting down the days lol! cant waitttt!
The Boat takes you to the Downtown Disney area. The resort grounds are easily walkable, and there are constantly cycling busses that take you to the parks.
hey man heading there on friday its gonna be my 9th time at disney and 8th at Port Orleans, man i was there when it was still Dixie Landings lol well great video u helped me get even more psyched THANKS!
...It... was . . . AWESOME!! The only downside was that space mtn almost broke down while I was on it. Yeah, I'm super sad it's over but I'll be back next year! =]
I'm glad you had fun. Space Mountain will be closed while I'm there. . boohooohooo! It's the first coaster I ever road. We'll be there in 60 days woot!
having stayed here, and last time at saratoga springs, moderate is the best bang for your buck. don't get me wrong, the suite was nice and big, but for the extra cost savings, we're really only in the rooms at WDW to sleep.
I'd have to say Riverside. I've been in love with it since the Dixie Landings days. French Quarter is very Elegant, and I love their gardens, but I prefer the quiet simplicity of its neighbor.
My future wife and I decided on Disney cruise for 2010 to get married..then 3 nights at the Poly to play..Also, I play fiddle and I am going to buy a pawn shop cheapy one to bring and jam somewhere near Port Orleans..Will have to make a vid for ya if yall are still around then...geez, did I say married..oh man!
I went july 19th for two weeks and loved it, and i know it is so damn expensive man. We stayed at riverside, south deport. I used the arcades at midnight because thats when the games were free for one hour as the system went offline everytime with those card thingies. I made a some vids just before we left maybe i should put them on youtube
Nice video. My family and I stayed at Riverside for the first time last week and it was great. Nice and quiet with good food, a great staff and a nice, quiet pool with a cool water slide. We loved taking the midnight walks around the complex after a long day at the park. We will be back.
Anyone like the Polynesian? I am thinking for a few days after my Wedding cruise we may go there! It would be a quick hop on the Monorail to play and leave time fer other thangs! :) I love Port Orleans/Dixie Landings but the bus waiting can be a lengthy.
I know how you feel. It tears me up that I can only afford to go once every several years if that. I last went in May of '07, and, given my current financial situation, it may be another decade before I can make the trip again. =-/
Damit man..what were you up wondering fer at this time of the morn. Tha only reason I evers gets up this early is to stoke the wood on the hooch still. Rightgod music thar though...

This is still the best vid on this resort...! I want to bring my banjo to Port Orleans RS and sit and play on a bench.

Hi - I was wondering if the music in this video is from the resort? Is there a cd I can purchase that contains this resorts music?
It almost sounds like the music from the ferries you can take to Disney Downtown.
Very relaxing and reminds me of this resort. Please let me know where I can get a copy of the music!
Thanks.
