without the pixies, smells like teen spirit, one of the most important songs in rock history, would NOT have been created, Kurt was so influenced by the pixies most of the songs he wrote on "nevermind" he used the same method of song writing the pixies used; songs like lithium, polly, come as you are, and teen spirit wouldn't be around today, so thank the pixies

I took an avant-garde film class at UMASS where they said Frank Black saw Bunuel's Un chien andalou and was inspired to write this song. The professor talked about the film and later played the song in class. Yet another fine piece of music history for the Pioneer Valley.
