@blasterracer200 Well a MTX is of course a better choice for mountain climbing, I can hit about 82 mph with it on a groomed trail, and it seems pretty fast. The RTX is made more for trails, i'm not sure about the speed, but it's going to be faster and have better handling on trails. The RTX can do a little deep snow riding, but won't have as good of acceleration as the MTX.

I consider the MTX a crossover sled, it does well in both enviroments. The MTX is scary on hardpack trails until you get used to its handling. I like to put my foot out and lean out like on a dirtbike to make carving fun. And personally, you don't buy a mountain sled for speed... But since you asked MTX 70-80mph, RTX 85-95.
@64NorthEntertainment a few of my buds out here in Western Alaska have Phazer RTX's and GT's, and what they have done is get a CP Freeryde121" track w/ 1.5" or 2" lugs, and then got the 17 tooth drive sprocket and clutch weights from the Phazer MTX, they stilll loose a little top end because of the diff gearing but now they can drive in much, much deeper snow because of the longer lugs and more torque geared weights. They still can't go where I go tho.. Hehe.

The Phazer and Snopro also have the most HP @ 80hp and 85hp, most other 500's have 50-60hp
@blasterracer200 dont get either. we bought 2 new and the first blew up at 800 and the second at 1100 miles. both threw a rod. in the powder they are so underpowered your forced to hold it wide open all day and they WONT last

How's your suspension set? I took mine out this weekend and powder absolutely crushed me.. it's amazing in powder with momentum but once I let off for 2-3 seconds I would trench, it's like the front end is an anchor..
My suspension is fine, I've been riding it for a while in the deep snow now this year and the suspension is set to the hardest setting. No problems with it in the deep powder yet.
phazers dont even have sufficient power for a short track because i had one and you would be better off with a nytro mtx or at least turbo your phazer
well...don't expect to go highmarking with it...after all it is an ENTRY level sled, but good longevity and GREAT fuel mileage. I have an R-tx trail version with the 121 track and I love it for the trails and I get17- 21 mpg cdn. I top out at 125 kmph. but my friends who have bought these as mountain sleds were very dissapointed with them. However if taken for what they are (an 80 hp 144`track entry level sled) they perform very well. check out the arctic cat sno pro 500 too. same price!
mpg isn't about the money....it's about the range, my friends have to pack fuel and I don't. And if you don't like trails, don't ride them. I enjoy my riding alot, and my phazer allows me to do so with virtually no maintainence, and VERY low cost of operation. As well I don't care to have another reply from you.
