hey man im looking to buy a d40..i want to explore "light painting" with this certain camera. I want to ask you, can you change the shutter speed on this..and how? i want to be able to have a shutter speed of ten seconds of where the picture is taken. is this possible on this camera?
@hondurano92 hey, yeh of course you can change the shutter speed on a d40, it has full manual control. But the d40 has a max shutter speed of 30 seconds, i think.
What lense did u use on these??? I have a nikon d40 and i dont think its possible to get pictures of that quality with my kit 18-55mm lense! Ha...whatd u use?? thanks
@itsscrappycoco the d40 is a great, cheap, beginner dslr, but depends what ur budget is...if ur willing to spend a little bit more u can get a better camera, but d40 is still good and recommended
i just picked up my camera from the shop. i waited 3 yrs to buy one. a week later, my brother drops it and brakes the lens. shop had it for 13 weeks! i cant wait to start shooting. again, nice shots dude
Nice stuff. I'm taking the same type of pictures, but I'm on the learning curve and will be able to post a similar montage of shots (hopefully) soon. I especially like the guitar with the light & motion behind.
What's the best photo software out there

@codithomasprojects lol, i was using the 18-55mm lens it comes with, but all the images were Photoshopped so they look a little better than usual

nah, no filters used, just the standard lens that came with the camera, but all of the shots are heavily photoshopped
