Thanks for posting this! Takes me back. I wonder if my memory is correct & the song "F*@K Ya" is on this album? One of my all time favs by these guys! If so, would you consider posting it? Very hard to find it anywhere!
`"F..k Ya" was released in '81 on the album "Locked Up For Laughs". Another great album by these 2 lovable bafoons...lol.....couple good old Canadian boys!
hahaha! Thanks rexcat for posting this! I have Suck Their Way to the Top /Take the O' Out of Country and just bought a USB-Vinyl system so as soon as I figure out how to use it I'll upload some more songs!
A turntable you plug in your computer, you mean? Mine doesn't have that feature yet I can plug my stereo amp into the computer with audio cable. Records great too, I'm happy to say.
Did you get a copy of Audacity with it on a mini CD rom?
Yeah (turntable), but no to the Audacity - it comes with some kind of software on CD though (haven't opened the box yet actually!) - I'm pretty excited about it, just need to find some time to start digitizing! (might take me a while. sigh.)
Thanks for your e-mail. It's always great to hear from fans. Lots of memories of bars across Canada - some of them not such good ones!
If you want any of our other CD's I now have all of them available including the one I produced after Gary's death. They were re-released last year. Our old record company went bankrupt and tied up all our production for four or five years which was a drag. Anyway, you can get them all again - and from me. I'll even autograph them for you!
Yep You're right, zedwolf, It Was in mid seventies maybe 77 or so, I was there too,
Indeed the mobile studio was recording that nignt and I had the table (for 8) in front of the stage, and at around 11 ish burton cummings dropped in and since we had a couple of spare seats we let him sit in.
What a party. The gary and blair bros., also played at the TUBE the Skline hotel, and the best of all the Colonial tavern on
You're welcome. I'm not saying you should redo the video. Maybe you could edit your description of the video to include the info, so it'll still be there when my comments roll off the front page.
Flashback! I have Toilet rock and another (I've seen pubic hair, long distance daddy, dolly parton's tits, etc.) somewhere on vinyl. They belonged to my parents and I discovered them when I was 12 (29 now. I need to find them. Can anyone name the other one I speak of?

I am very good friends with Gary Maclean's sons I wish I could have heard these guys play live! you can hear some of there music too, just google "The Maclean Brothers, Winnipeg"
These guys have been comedy heroes of mine for 25 years. Me & a buddy found a copy of one of their tapes in the woods behind our subdivision & I've been hooked ever since! Got all their albums. Saw them once in Toronto at Ryerson around 1990 and again in Dartmouth at Penny on the Park around 1994. So glad I got to see them live. God bless boys.
not a damn mention of their deaths in eastern canada.we surely are 20 yrs behind the rest of the country.they truley will be missed,in my opinion they are the greatest.RIP BOYS
They hosted Cambrian College Frosh Concert in 1995. I loved it. I also went and saw them at The Edge in Sudbury later that year. They were comic gods to me and my friends.
Gary & Blair were both great guys to talk with and of course would always make you laff....Seen and met them many times during the 1980's at Barrymore's in Ottawa. They played there many times and a few times with their good friend Burton Cummings who is also amazing.
Both of them are dead now. I was lucky enough to see them in a nightclub in 1996. I ached all over after their 2 hours show! A little piece of canadian comedy history.

I believe this was recorded at a nightclub (The Chimney) inToronto back in the early 70's. I was there that night with my (then) wife.
zedwerewolf 2 years ago
I believe you're correct although I did try looking for the information on the record jacket and the label.
Here's another bit of info I found out from the label: This album was produced by Skip Prokop who was the lead singer for Lighthouse.
rexcat 2 years ago
@rexcat Skip Prokop was the drummer. Bob McBride was the lead singer

All their albums have been released on CD in Canada, first by Attic, and now by Unidisc.
Drail: The album you're wondering about is their third one, the live/studio split Suck Their Way to the Top/Take the "O" Out of Country.
