Cartoon based on the 1932 film Rasputin and the Empress, starring the Barrymore family, John, Ethel and Lionel. The cast and the subject made it a major work and a media event for its era.
Does anyone else notice when Rice Pudden takes the "cigar" out of the Cossack guard's jacket it just magical reappears a second later? I wonder if that was an animation goof or an intentional gag.
Great to see the cartoon of famous 1920's band leader "King of Jazz" Paul Whiteman at 0:54. Great cartoon and I liked the song "Wake Up The Gypsy In Me". Did any band record this tune?
