That was a pretty funky groove, the only problem is that you played it alone I think. That sounded like something that needed the rest of the band to reach its full potential.

At some point I need to work out an arrangement for this - it's too wacky by itself with no beat to follow and honestly, it was outside my skill but sometimes your ideas are better than what you can do at the time you have them. Thanks for the comment btw.

I have no issues with your comment. I never said I was a paragon of guitar technique. :-) I was simply having fun which in the end is all that matters. And yes, last year this was the limit of my ability. (Actually beyond it which is why it's so damn sloppy)

Sorry man - Herman Lii is wayyyy out of my league! Even on the Wii! But honestly, that album is rally annoying... Too busy, too much, no real muic there. Go check out John Petrucci's or Paul Gilbert's solo albums.. they're guaranteed to satisfy! ;-)

Peavey JSX. They're a bit over compressed live but they record really well because of it. Well, hard to tell from this vid. They're good amps though. Although I just picked up an old Mesa Boogie that I really like. I'll more than likely sell the JSX since I can't afford to keep both.

Yup - never could play righty! My current guitar is an Ibanez RG1570. Very nice, but the Raven I'm using in this vid holds it's own too. Raven only made 4 in lefty . I'm lucky I have one. The new Raven leftys are really nice tho... Your only choice if you want an Ibanez type neck through guitar.

There were (and about 100 of em sucked in my opinion). The entry that won was technically good (tapping, sweeping, shredding, etc.), but there was no heart or soul in the music... It's a good thing I didn't take it too seriously.

What the guitar? No - it's a Raven from Raven West guitars... they only made 4 of these in lefty, but the righty version is still available. They build pretty decent guitars. You should go check them out. ravenwestguitar dot com
