El mejor que ha sido, el mejor que es y el mejor que será, que triste que nuestros grandes cientificos ya no se preocupen por hacer este tipo de obras que en una sola palabra es Hermosa.
It might sound funny to say this about a TV show, but 'Cosmos' came along at a time when I was going through a dark personal crisis, and it helped me through it. That wonderful showed helped me to feel some hope again. Thank you, Carl Sagan. You are missed.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.....Gen. 1:1. and through Him (Christ) nothing was made that has been made. John 1:3. The heavens declare the glory of God: And the firmament shows His handiwork. Psalm 19:1
Precisely. It was either Herodotus or Xenophon who observed (paraphrase): "The Ethiopians worship Black gods. If horses had deities, they'd gallop, neigh and be venerated with golden hay".
As sage Hindus observed (sighted by Sagan in Cosmos, Chapter 10, The Edge of Forever), gods are the dreams of men.
I first saw "Cosmos" when I was 10 years old and it has haunted me ever since.
Dr. Sagan was a brilliant thinker and a dreamer. There is no greater story than the story of the Cosmos and man's journey through it.
Dr. Sagan also had tremendous taste in music as he personally chose much of the music for the show, such as the closing section of "Heaven and Hell, Part I" by Vangelis, which is used here.
God, I'd forgotten how beautiful that theme was. And how great the show was (never missed an episode.) As for the "billions" part, I remember when Johnny Carson was telling the audience who his guests were for the show: "And we have Dr Carl Sagan, who'll tell us that by the year 2000, there'll be billions of unemployed." Nice work, gedeonm!
So that's where the phrase "Starstuff contemplating the stars" came from! It's engraved on the memorial to him on the Ithaca Commons. Check out my home-town Sagan videos for details.
Great video Gedeonm. You are so invited the the Gathering.
Carl Sagan is awesome! I think just like him! If there were more people like Carl we wouldn't be just living on Earth. Our human race would be much more advanced technologically.
CARL SAGAN is the wise man of all time.
Carl lives on.

Yeah, I made sure to include a clip with him saying "billions". It wouldn't be Carl without it. :-)

I love it when Carl Sagan says "billion, billion, billion." No one else says it quiet like that!
