There are actual studies in the science literature that seem to support the health benefit of prayer, even in double blind studies where the placebo effect cannot account for it. Although the particulars studies I'm aware of reference a Christian source of prayer, I do not rule out anything, and if someone can cite references concerning a Muslim perspective, I would be very interested in knowing about it.
