People bashing doom in this thread, yeesh guys... you haven't heard the good epic shit. Doomsword, Solstice, Scald from Russia, and most importantly SOLITUDE AETURNUS! Also, Mercy, Procession, Doomshine, Isole, Ereb Altor, Sorcerer... plenty of great EPIC bands with great vocals and ripping solos.

No doom metal band comes close too Candlemass.The best doom metal band ever.The funny thing is.I don,t even like Doom or Black metal.I tried too listen too some dome metal.But, it does not cut it for me.Messiah voice and the heavy riffs and awesome solos is what does it for me with this band.

@671kmn They are pretty unique for being a doom metal band. But like you said it's their heavy riffs, guitar solos and Messiah's voice that makes me jump on the bandwagon. The other doom bands have failed to impress me.

Hmm, I actually would consider this song as Christian Metal despite the fact that Candlemass isn't a Christian band (I hope I am right :) ). @cryostation In the Nightfall album sleeve, Messiah is wearing a shirt with my previous comment written on it, I thought it was funny so I thought I'd share. I like Johan Lanquist too, but I really can't pick a favorite. Johan, Messiah, and Rob have all suited the band very well!

Johan is the best because his voice has mors spirit put into it than anyone. messiahs voice is technically superior to anyone, he has am operatic voice he could be a professional baritone opera singer.rob is the weakest of the bunch

This song is so epic. The opening riff just sounds like something out of some epic tale of something dark but beautiful. Awesome. How do they do that? Playing a guitar melody is one thing but making it sound so epic is quite another.  It really is phenomenal.
