  • Fact: Less people cried at this scene than the ending scene.

  • DAMN Andy got hot, I'm serious

  • I'm 15 & I cried when Flicka was attacked, The endin of Brother Bear, Spirit, 8 Seconds when Lane showed back up & When he was killed & The endin of Toy Story 3

  • That moment when they both look at the room and realize its empty. If you moved away from home to go to school.. you'll understand why that made me lose it

  • When I left for college my mom couldn't keep herself from crying mostly because I am her only daughter and because I am a lot farther away. Watching this scene made my heart drop knowing this is how my mother felt when I left for college. I could not stop a river of tears flowing as I knew that one day I would leave my old home and family to start my own. Life can be miraculous and heart breaking at the same time, just like this movie. Thanks Pixar for a wonderful conclusion to a great movie.

  • I wonder why Andy didn't just give his toys to his sister.

  • @ClubPenguin7771 Earlier in the movie Andy's mom tells Andy and his sister to clean out their rooms and throw out any old stuff. His sister throws out her Barbie, and seemed more interested in some music player and one of those "tween" magazines. Chances are she's not interested in toys anymore either.

  • this made my mom cry, and I asked her not to cry when I left, and she said "don't worry, I will"

  • Pretty sure this made every mom who had a child about to go to college cry.

  • After this movie came out, everyone talked about how they cried during the fire scene. Toy Story 3 came out a month after I graduated from high school. This is the scene that made me cry.

  • Poor Andy's mom! I find this so touching! I swear when I have to go to college, I will either grief myself to death or drown in my tears

  • for whom ever cried to this i want you dead for having something i couldnt.

  • Soon I'll be saying goodbye to my own mom...class of 2012 baby :'(

  • Where is Andy's dad?.....

  • @ARVideos5 his dad passed away and woody was the last thing he gave him when he was a child so that's why woody is so special to him.

  • Goodbye forever mom.... until I come home every weekend, holiday, and after school if I want.

  • thumbs up if you wish you could build a time machine & be a kid FOREVER

  • Just watched this movie in the summer, and now I'm in college. God, watch it again tearing up my eyes. I miss my family so much!!

  • Growing up sucks.... :'(

  • Damn Andy got hot...

  • @completelypistolwhip uh its an animated character are you serious?

  • @completelypistolwhip Buster got fat

  • i watched this with my family at home, my mom was doing some work on her laptop like usual, so she would glance up every now and then. then this part came on and she stopped to watch and she started tearing up

  • When I saw this scene all I wanted to do was crying like a little child. I moved to university 3 years ago, but I can clearly remember how sad I was the first days. Fuck, I love my mom.

  • Oh, God! I remember leaving my parent's house after high school. Saying goodbye to mother. To father. To brother (who also moved on to college.) And to the old fart (a Beagle who's now almost 10.) This was back in 2009. Dear, God I miss home now.

  • Buster is fat

  • =[

  • Ah totally packing my room at present to move to uni on Saturday. This how my mum must feel at the moment

  • when andy mom hugs him and says she wish she can always be with him i sheded a tear but when woody was in the box and he looked at andys picture when he was a lil kid with his toys that made me cry my eyes out i got so emotional over it! toy story for life!!!

  • i love my mother so much. we're really close. I'm not even in highschool yet, well, i will be in a year. but i know saying goodbye to my mother when i leave for college will be so hard for both of us. a mother does so much for her children, i will always love and appreciate my mom! "I wish I could always be with you.." It's almost as if that's what woody wants to say to andy

  • omg in the theatre i had like 10 pound of water hangin at the edge of my eyes. im really attached to my mom and saying gbye to my mom wen i left to college was the hardest thing of our lives, especially for her. wen we watched this as a family she was really tearing up

  • Im leaving in 5 days! This part really resonated with my heart because of my appreciation for my mother!

  • Atleast where we live we can choose to stay in a dorm or stay at home. But if it was like this i'd cry for days upon days.

  • man, buster got chubby! Pixar, you always make me laugh and cry and I love it

  • my mom and i cried so much especially since im leaving for college in 29 days

  • I never noticed that andys mum is Jackie from Roseanne!:)

  • i cried my panzies off

  • andy is smarter than that lol. I mean sid becomes a garbageman. Andy at least could work at a factory that makes .... cowboy dolls.

  • Toy Story 3 was meant for us Highschool graduates of 2010. Nuff said

  • @jbuugi you're so write buddy!

  • @jbuugi

    damn right

  • *sigh* I think this was toughest on us high school seniors leaving to college.

  • And at THIS point, it's pretty obvious what the toys' reluctance to let go of their kid was a metaphor for.

  • Its crazy how Andy aged with me...I mean Toy Story 1 and 2 were literally my childhood and I saw Toy Story 3 with my mom literally a couple weeks before I went off to college and my mom started crying her eyes out and so did I. Its just incredible how Disney/Pixar relates to peoples lives so much...and I'll always love Disney for that...

  • This could be good for raising awareness about empty nest syndrome.

  • They're acting like Andy is leaving permanently. What about when Andy comes home for Thanksgiving and Christmas and the summer???

  • My mom cried during this. She was all sad-like.

  • We saw this movie for the first time 3 days before I moved away for college...this movie had my mom crying so hard.

  • There are lots of songs and films that make me think of her (would’ve loved to watch them together), some funny and others sad, such as Ferris Bueller, the Wallace & Gromit films and Chicken Run, the 1970s comedy Freaky Friday, Mamma Mia and Abba (especially Chiquitita), the Toy Story series and films with Julie Walters and the Weasley twins. I think these all show her lovely soul and what it is like to spend time with her.

  • To the lively, red-haired support ‘clown’, Leap Year born and fun as April 1st, who understood my cat-batty imagination like nobody else does, whom I always looked forward to sharing interests with till the day I could tell or ask her no more, whose intelligent sense of humour and ability to dissolve into fits of mirth at the slightest thing made my memories beautiful, whom I love and miss with all my heart.

  • Contrary to starting college, my three years have just ended. Though it was fun making a cake and a thank you card for everyone, it hurt me to say goodbye because it might be forever. I have here the photo of the whole team which I used for the front cover of their card. At the leaver's party the music from Toy Story 3 ending played in my head the whole time and I really did say to one of these people "I wish I could always be with you" same as Andy's mum.

  • i'm crying! i'm going to college this year!

  • My mom took me to see Toy Story when I was a kid. 15 years later I took her to see Toy Story 3.

  • @xer0gt Same with me and my Dad!!

  • @xer0gt your comment pulls on my heart strings just a bit...

  • This is a really touching scene, especially if you remember if Andy's dad is supposedly dead (They don't say it in the movies, but I think Pixar has confirmed it).

And on another note, I'm leaving for college next fall. I happened to see this movie in theatres with my parents, and I visably say my mom tearing up. Honest to God, I was too.

  • This simple scene. This small, less than a minute scene, was the first scene that started the waterworks in my eyes. Seeing that, yes, I'll leave my parents someday..I feel horrible that, I gave them so much joy, they were so proud of me, always brag about me to my relatives, and once I'm gone, they won't have anything to talk about. Including Andy's lil sister. I'm going to leave my little sister behind...I'm her best friend and I don't know what I'd do without her. Omg pixar you're the best

  • This is one of my favorite parts. Toy Story 3 came out the night I graduated from high school. (Class of 2010) ! and I am in college and grew up watching Toy Story. 1990s kids rules!

  • @MrAndre203 Couldn't agree more, my friend, Toy Story forever!

  • too bad toys cant cry :P

  • @johnnytimgudao we cry for them.

  • This Scene made me the saddest because you see the picture of all the toys and Andy having fun Toy story's are great movies :) I just hope if they do make another one that they bring Andy into it some how

  • I grew up with toy story, and now I'm leaving for college in a few short months, I can't help but cry watching this. Toy Story is one of the best trilogies ever made

  • I am a freshman in college. This was so sad =( I had toy story as a little kid then as a teen and now I'm in college. Wow how things change...

  • 0:28 - 0:43 is mind blowing. By seeing Andy and his mom say goodbye, Woody realizes that human life is fleeting and by looking at the picture of young Andy, he understands that his purpose is to be there for that first stage of life, hence why he jumps into the box to go to Bonnie. "Andy is beginning to outgrow his own mother," Woody thinks. "These changes must only be natural, and it's not only toys he's outgrowing." Essentially with four shots, Woody accepts change.

  • @whowiseedet Beautifully said.

  • Ooh Andy is so sweet D': I can't believe he already left!!

  • Instant tear jerker watch this video and listen to taylor swift never grow up you'll cry and trust me i'm a guy

  • I'm 16 and this is going to be me next year. Mom, I love you so much and I will always be your baby, no matter how old I get!

  • This scene breaks my heart. This movie is not for children, is for those who were children. Us.

  • @1994cordobes I know exactly what you mean you try to explain it the best you can but you can't, you just have to keep it in ur heart as a great memory:) Just be thankful that WE got the chance to grow up with the greatest movie ever:P

  • @1994cordobes OMG your comment is 8 months old. And it made me cry...OMG T_T

  • @1994cordobes 90's babies!!!

  • @1994cordobes You copied that comment form the life and death video :O

  • @jaykombatpsn Are you dumb?

  • @1994cordobes no are you?

  • Andy gets to go to a nice college while im stuck in a community college :'(

  • if i were andy i would just tell his mother there is a time when we're all alone.

  • Im a freshman in college. I almost cried at the incinerator scene but then this part made me lose it. Timing with this movie could not have been more perfect.

  • It's always sad too say good bye to parents!

  • brb, gotta go hug my mom.

  • I'm going off to college next year. Sad scene =( I will indeed miss my mom

  • Andy grows up so hot :D

  • @YTheLadyButlerY if only he didnt have a girly voice...

  • 0:33 Andy packed a NIV bible to take to college :3

  • @JesikkaNicole lol he sure did pack an NIV Bible :)

  • :(

  • they should have made the toys tell andy the truth that they have lives in this movie

  • I always tear up when I see the image of Andy as a kid in this video. It's practically looking at a mirror back in time.

  • man i was watching this scene with my mom...

i saw her tearing up and i almost lost it.

i appreciate everything she's done for me all these 17 years

  • @dillyrokket my mom was doing the same thing. Even though I'm now not in college, but I know the feeling. I held her close and kissed her eyes and licked away her tears. Here's to mothers, the guiding lights of the Earth! Do me a favor and don't burn out on me! I don't like flying through dark nights without a light at the other end!

  • @dillyrokket ok cool dude

  • @dillyrokket Same exact thing happened to me about an hour ago man ='[

  • @dillyrokket I feel the same way! =)

  • @dillyrokket stop :L

  • it must really be tough! You give birth to them, breast feed them, cradle them in your arms, buy them toys and watch the grow up, see them go through high school and graduate, and then you have to say buy and see them face the world on their own.

  • Children got to be free to lead their own lives.

  • @declanappleseed

    ...You? /Always/ say that?

  • I just cracked! Christ, 50 seconds and I'm crying! That's the sign of a good, nay, a great movie. Inception and The Social Network; terrific, jaw-dropping masterpieces. Toy Story 3; life-changing, tear-jerking, nostalgic joy. Nostalgia wins :-)

  • My mom was crying her eyes out at this part

  • Watching this scene is surreal to me, as I lived it exactly this year when my son went away to college. Going into his room, looking around, taking it all in...pride and sadness all at once. I can say the moment and the emotion were captured amazingly and perfectly by Pixar...not sure real actors could pull it off as well.

They truly out did themselves with this one!

  • @miloscia1211 Pixar always captures the simple, yet powerful moments of life perfectly. They truly can work magic in ways that surpass other films.

  • this is so sad

  • I cryed woddy and Andy life are passing them by

  • The exact scene where mom and i had the biggest throat lump ever

  • I wish I could work on Pixar before my Animation College... I'll work hard for it, because when you see Pixar movies you don't really get interested on DreamWorks, for example...

  • This scene always gets to me, i dont understand it. I cant believe an animated film could reach to so much heights of emotion and quality. Nobody but PIXAR!

  • @DakotahSalazar9 Yeah, for sure. Pixar works magic in ways that surpass many of today's films.

  • It's amazing how so small a scene can be so powerful. It's awesome, and very sad at the same time.

  • This part was so sad :(

  • I cried at this part, sad though :C

  • @thegr8estone This was probably the most effective part of the movie that was actually called for.
