@roslindalesq But it's a way of discribing the original of The Pied Piper of Hamelin a legend concerning the departure or death of a great many children from the town of Hamelin. Read your history.
@dunbunter I'm well aware of the legend - there are several versions of it - as well as many historical possibilities it might explain. About the video, others have also commented elsewhere on the incongruity of what looks like a laundry basket in this grim context. .
That's… definitely not what I would've expected for the music video for this song. o.o
But man, I used to love listening to an old radio station on the AM band that played stuff from the '50s and '60s; sometimes this song'd come on. :D
Then they turned into a Gospel station. :x I haven't found a good '50s/'60s station since. :(
(P.S.: I'm only 22; it was about… 6 or 7 years ago that it switched to a Gospel station, and I'm not really a fan of Rap/Hip-Hop unless it's from the '80s.)
Not only that, a SWAT team would have jumped out from behind the bushes and tackled him to the ground. That TV guy would have then walked out and asked him what his intentions were coming to the house.
Such a simple video but brilliant. If you had to do that video now you would need permission from all the kids parents and he would be vetted, How life has changed.

don't like it.... turned what I always imagined as a cute love song into the Jerry Sandusky anthem.

From the looks of it, a bunch of kids following a guy who is off to do his laundry.

What an age of innocence. He'd be under police investigation nowadays and this video would be used in evidence against him.
