I love this CD about 10 years ago I walked into a science store in the mall, and they had this CD playing. I am like OMG what is that music, I had to have this CD (which they happened to sale)!
This and the Higland farewell make me tear up. Thank you to those who answered my questions. I intend to make a journey to both my ancestral home of Soctland and to pay my respects in Normandy. Both of my parents served during WWII and I'm so proud of that.
The feral trash that roams the streets of the UK and the morons who want others to pay for THEIR education need to be hauled by the scruff of their scrawny necks to the war cemeteries in France and have their faces slammed into the ground in front of these brave men. They would not have the freedom they have now if it were not for these soldiers. Bring back national service and install some discipline and respect into these idiots, oh sorry, that infringes their human rights. Crazy.
This stirs my soul....I think of my grand father Roderick McKenzie who now lies in France. He fought for freedom, and Alba! R.I.P. May we never forget them.
God Bless you for posting this! I love from where I came from! . You of the highlands made America the land of freedom as much as any . Most of the scotts made friends with native americans! The otherss should live in shame! Oh Well.. America is what it is! Quit hating please! We love our children too!
Wow...it's been so long since I first heard this song. My brother got the CD when I was little. And yet, years later, this song still breaks my heart.
does anyone know where i can get a copy of this cd. I had it years ago my brother stole it because he liked it and now i cant get a copy anywhere. My brothers kids distroyed the one i had after he stole it. PLEASE help me find it again
@wolfman97223 They usually have some on Amazon, as well as Steve's other CD's; this was the Sons of Sommerled album (they won't let me post a link in this comment, but search for Sons of Sommerled at Amazon).
I've always loved this song... One thing that I've noticed is that thebeginning of Bruce Springsteen's song from the Wrestler sounds a bit like this song's beginning at about .40 seconds in.
What a moving song! And so beautifully illustrated, too. This really brings home the cost of war and the pain of those who lost a loved one. Very well done indeed
I promise to never forget. I can't
