I make legobots as well, but not powered - just push along. They are capable of surviving a small fall (like off a table onto a wooden floor). I never hollow mine out because against my spinners which ARE electrical (due to scratching myself on one) are often easy to beat when the robot is solid inside, whereas if it wasn't, the spinner could rip the side away and tear the guts out of it.
@TheHogsOfWarKing I used to do push-alongs (along with the pullbacks) long time ago. Spinning weapons where also electric and I often made a chassis with paper shells to rip apart. Ah, those days...
@helloface001 I haven't watched it for a while, but it is a really good form of stress killing. Seeing Lego robots smash to pieces and get thrown about is really funny to watch, especially when that robot with the massive green wheels comes on (I forgot its name) because it always ends up in the pit and then it gets lifted out. Then an annotation says "You didn't see that..." or something like that. XD
Where d oyou get the caterpillar tracks from. I can't find any on ebay and the only sets that have them are too expensive when all I want from them are those grey tracks.
Earthquaker seems to do a lot of self damage. I would highly recomend 1: reinforcing his front armor. 2: putting a rubber stopper or spring on his rear to ease the blow of his hammer on himself
If this is anything to go by, this is going to be one hell of a Series! (I personally think Series 6 of Robot Wars was the best... could it be the same here?)
Earthquaker is.....frightening to say the least. Probably one of my new favourite robots!
Also Hit N Run vs. Overdrive will go down as one of the most legendary fights ever for a many number of reasons!
I think tourdeforce17 is referring to the OOTA and the comedy value of the match. It very nearly hit the time limit, and HnR really showed what it could do.
@tourdeforce17 yes i have.... So what he flipped hit and run out of the arena ive seen that happen hundreds of times in robot wars its cool but not spectacular
@tourdeforce17 big deal that it has only happened once nd the only reason for that is that this series he decided to lower the walls it would hav ahppened plenty of more times if the walls were lower in previous series
When it first happened to Firestorm, it was way cool. I didn't like it towards the end of RW though, when it was really easy to accomplish and everyone was flying out. However it's still quite tricky in LRW because flippers aren't very powerful - some barely flip! This is the first one for LRW, so it's cool lol
@ochayedonald yes i agree as more and more robots tried to win that way i lost its charm but u ha vto admit that it was kind of funny to see chaos 2, firestorm, wheely big cheese, ripper, and many more big names just make the other poorly built robots just go flying across the arena. remember the fight where wheely big cheese flung the opponent out from almost dead center of the arena u hav to admit that still had amusement for u.
@ochayedonald yeah well in ur case its not that easy to lift someone out of the arena bc ur just using motors to liftif u made a robot with a flipper nd took a coiled wire from like say a nerf gun and attached it to the frame and to the flippers arm the u put the motor to pull it down then once its fully down u could hav like a quick release that would send the other robots flying like in one of the video links on ur website. just a tip for series 7
Mainly because I prefer this building style, but I think studless ones would be too tough. The parts that fall off easiest are usually the "armour" panels, the chassis' are normally quite resilient. Btw the limit on videos is now 15 minutes! This was going to be a 2 battle episode until I spotted that.
Are you going to make a new season for 2012? cause your vids are awesome!!!

And a brilliant one. Hopefully in the future Flippers will become more powerful using spring power for the flipper as CO2 is just plain dangerous.
