  • I had ACL surgery one 4 wks ago, with a hamstring graft. starting walking with cructhes on day 2. Go to therapy 3 times a week. Hardest part is getting range of motion back and get quads stronger. oh and walking without a limp. good luck to all you!

  • I had my ACL done; back in April of 2009 it wasn't well for me because I am outgoing and I had to be on crutches for a long time, then I couldn't put any weight on my surgery leg for about 3 months. But I also had ACL Reconstruction; because I only had one tendon and a knee left in my leg. No tendons, only one hanging on, and no cartilage left because it all disingrated. The only thing left was my knee cap and one tendon. I was in PT 3 times a week for about 7 months.

  • shit gettin reconstruction in 3 weeks

  • hey guys.. i had my surgery done last tuesday.. with hamstring tendons.. it still is really sore.. dont start physio yet.. but some of the excercises that the physio told me to do are seriously sore..!

  • haveing my acl done june 23 not looking forward to it

  • I don't blame you for not looking forward to it. Who looks foward to having thier knee cut on. All will be good though. It really hurt when they took mine out!!

  • i have the same scar

  • dag am lucky mah stich thigy is disolving thing or sumthin shii i dnt want mah doctor takin off that strig ofmah knee

  • i had acl done in 97 and had 5 single suture scope incisions an about a 7 inch 30 staple curved incision. i now go in 01-09-08 for acl lcl and miniscus due to another injury. pattela graft has already been used so i get donors.

  • Should have gone with an allograft...

  • deff... way less pain and scaring

  • ya but much worse overall result. My patellar graft got me so close back to 100% i dont even know the difference after 2 years

  • i had a cadaver graft 3 and a half months ago and im already running and pivoting.. i think it depends more on what type of rehab you have and how determines you are to get back to 100%

  • well it will never ever be 100% unfortunately

  • thats not completly true... i was 100% if not better after my first acl surgery but i decided to be an idiot and not wear my brace while barefoot waterskiing and i tore it again... and now im ready to go back into competative sports and i still have more strenght training... i still believe that with determination and the right physical therapy 100% can be achieved

  • i had a cadaver graft just two weeks ago, how long were you on crutches for?

  • petalla grafts are the best

  • @ryanr121,

Actually they are proven to be 2nd best. Hamstring autograft is the best option if a suitable tendon exists. Patellar tendon autografts produce some tracking disorders of the patella long term. I love my new acl and looking forward 100% use.

  • oww dude

    very oww

  • i rekon its a second time for this person...

  • OUCH! Why are the gashes so big? I had ACL recon and there were 3 holes and a 1 1/2" cut. Let me know

  • how are you now? i just had mine done 7 days ago?? i will start therapy 10 days after, im guessing 3mo with therapy?
