I've recently taken up belly-dance, and Pentaphobe's "I Cash Radii" was the first song I performed in. Now I know why the music sounded so familiar: it's "I Cash Radii" sped up...me likey.
Beautiful dance! The Indigo are pioneers in what they do, and this is a perfect example. Yet, I'm surprised anyone would go as far as to call this performance Saiidi. The one and only thing about it that references Saiidi is the music. The dance makes no Saiidi references whatsoever. I expect to get smeared for saying it! LOL! But let us remember: "Saiidi" is not just a rhythm. It is a people, a culture, a style; a dance that means so much more than just Dum-Tek_DumDum_Tek. :) :)
@DahliaDance Better to watch the Reda Troupe, for The THEE. Please I love the indigo, in order to achieve the true Saiidi, and i was in Egypt, Reda troupe. Please understand not only do I dance but play dumbek and sagat. Crickey I have been doing this for over 30 yrs. Saiidi feel is more playful, check it out.
Such a good example of strong beautiful women!!!! I smile everytime i watch them dance. Im not into celebrities. If i saw any of these girls in person i would squeal like a lil school girl. it would be a dream come true for me!!!!!
I love watching these old videos. Man those girls have improved!
I agree with crsard, would have been nice to see what they could have done with saiidi steps mixed in, might have really rounded out the choreography and made a dynamic mix.
this is not saidi the real saidi of bellydance, this is a tribal dance, but the the person who posted this video put saidi because of the rhythm dum tac taca dum dum ...
Though, I agree with you that this is more Tribal style music, Saiidi is still saiidi, no matter what instrument it's played on. In this video it's obviously played with the riq. I have the DVD with this performance on it and it's called Saiidi in the menu.
yes i know that because i have the video too, i tried to say that the dance isn`t a saidi the way it is, it is a tribal dance with the rhythm saidi dum dum tac taca dum dum taca tac taca
Weren't they supposed to preform a Saiidi? Or did I missinterpet that.... was it because they had Saiidi music that the video is called "Saiidi by the Indigo"?
