  • good video but noise wind like to my camera !

  • Beautiful ... thats all i can say

  • Amazing! I had given up on finding a sharp and clear helmet cam. This post is over a year old, I must check to see if now there are even better models. Hell this one looks perfect to me as is.

  • 2000$? A lot!

  • Looked like your were gonna piss on your bike at the end there!

  • Hi dear,

I am very impressioned by this video and the quality. I see this one on my mac 24" and this is prefect.

    How cost this cam ?

    BR

  • @frossfross

    Like 2200 bucks.

  • wow very nice

  • ...excellence quality,

    ...very good camera,

    ...a lovely spot!

    lg Michael :-)

  • how much does a one cost I just need one with good long memory and can with stand 190 miles an hour wind i want to tape running from police and riding with my buds what the longets memory space on the cams

  • I'm satisfied with the video and color quality (though I'd expect nothing less from a US$3000 setup). I'm guessing you didn't have a UV filter mounted for this test, so I imagine that would make outdoor video look even better. I'd also like to try this with one of those Century Optics anamorphic lens attachments, which probably wouldn't be too cumbersome with a good windshield mount or something.

  • WOW!, I have to ride there now

  • can i connect it with a wireless transmitter like jonesCAM LX does as the sony is one piece opposit the jonesCAM LX has cables to plug

  • Hello aeroahmed,

Great question, but it's one I'm unable to answer. I suggest asking a Sony Representative or the maker of the wireless transmitter. (let me know what you find out)

    Ride Safe,

    Best regards,

    Jeff

  • Will this camera fit onto a half shell type helmet? Also, can you mount it on different locations on a bike?

  • Hello outlawdave2,

Yes, I think it would fit onto a half shell helmet with out any problem. The Sony HXR-MC1 camera head is very compact measuring; 1 1/2 x 1 1/16 x 3 1/2 inches (37x42.5x86.5 mm)

Yes you can also mount it on different locations on the bike, it has a cable length of 9.18 feet (2.8 meters).

There is a dedicated webpage on Vridetv showcasing the HXR-MC1 with videos, images, mounting bracket and lens protectors, etc.

More footage will be posted in the next couple of weeks.

  • What a quality!!!

  • i'm making this movie and it got a scene thats filmt like the. so where can i buy this helmet cam and how expensive is it? thank you a lot

  • Where can I get one?

  • Hi frankyfong36,

You can get one through a Sony store or their website.

    Have a good day,

    Jeff

  • Great Video and Top Quality.

    I love it.

    Wish you always good drive.

    Greetings from Germany.

  • well , I like the video, but I always prefer to clear the original sound and to put music, since therefore we give a personal touch him, pity that now youtube limits much the songs with protected content

  • Amazing quality. I'm going to have to stick with my gopro for now though. Looks like a fun road to ride on too.

  • Love it!!! Great Video.

  • Nice. Gotta get me one of dem! Though not ready to plunk down the 3 grand for it.

    Looking forward to more!

    Chris

  • Please Note:

For the purpose of this test the audio was not altered. I agree with all of the comments regarding the wind noise. Once the testing is complete, videos will be posted with music and the audio adjusted accordingly.

    Thanks for the feedback,

    Jeff

  • You need to cover the microphones of your camcorders, example foam is one of those that does absorb wind noise. You might also use tape little bit to protect microphones from getting wet of water if try foam. First tape then foam and probably some other so the foam doesnt fly off.

  • Awesome as always mate :)

Very good video quality and smooth. Good to see you aren't one of these guys who shakes their head around too much.

Wind noise completely normal but of course can be edited out completely or reduced for ambience while adding sound tracks as you plan to do.

I like the setup. How much for the cam?

Any other equipment required or is the cam a complete unit...SD card or Hard drive?

  • Hi beyondkiwi, Glad you liked the video. Your absolutely right about the audio... Answers to your questions; Approximate prices Sony HXR-MC1: $2,600 cdn Memory Stick Pro Duo 16 GB: $120 cdn NP-FH60 Battery Pack: supplied NP-FH100 Battery Pack: $180 cdn There is a HXR-MC1 spec page on VRIDETV with recording times, battery life, etc. To view it: Go to my Youtube channel & click on the HD helmet cam link in the profile. Thanks for the feedback, Jeff Virtual Riding TV
  • yeah the wind noise is loud but when a track is put over the top it'll look great. Is the volume level as far down as it will go ?

  • Hi alleywatson,

    There are two volume settings:

Normal (setting used in this video)

Low (this setting was used on the return trip, using AVC HD 9M (HQ) video setting) This video will be posted within the next couple of weeks.

    Thanks for the feedback,

    Jeff

  • superd video mate!! how much for all this stuff?? ahhh and amazing road in an amazing place!!

  • I think it's just a test video anyways. I'm sure the noise will be cut down when incorporated into the videos. nice shots!

  • The mic captured too much of the wind noise. Other than that, the footage of the ride and scenery is high quality. Thanks for sharing your ride.

  • The footage is nice but the sound should be off.

  • why is it so noisey driving along ?
