Yes,you must be in WiFi,and have an application such as Line2 or Skype. Once all that is done,go ahead and call. Like a home phone as far as calling goes but much cheaper and more apps in android market allow you to get phone apps. Hope this helps

@Fran0neal These are not phones, so don't make ordinary phone calls. However, using an application such as skype uses the wifi in the device to make a phone call. Think of skype as someone sitting in an office somewhere making the phone calls for you. Hope I helped.

@TechNewsWeeklyMMXI the 5 inch doesn't feel too big at all, it fits in my average size hand and all of my pockets. It certainly doesn't look big ever, especially with phones like the samsung note clocking in at 5.3 inches. I find the massive screen a great way to show off ;)

so, they took the Galaxy S and added a bigger 4 & 5 inch screen and call it a tablet?, what about the Desire HD ? isn't that 4 inch? and it's not a tablet wtf...what about the Galaxy TAB? they already have a tablet, why having another?, now they're just spamming the consumer market with similar products , that's not cool

Look, Samsung isn't spamming the consumer market with the same products, as everything they produce is slightly different for the very varied consumers needs. It's called "giving the customer choices" which samsung are practising very well. Not everyone can afford the £450 price tag of a galaxy tab. Gadgets like these are spreading new ways of communication to people that before now couldn't afford it. Life would be boring if we all had an iphone.

"..now announcing the new Galaxy (idk..) now!!, with 3 more buttons!!!", or "... on April 20th the new Galaxy FM radio!!!.. no WIFI!!, no 3G!!, no PHONE!, just Radio, for those that only want a radio" that's kinda like Apple did, first released the Iphone, no camera, no usb, .etc, then another Iphone, now with a crappy camera, still no usb, no SDcard support, still , etc, and now there's 4
