This is a good example of how movie trailers mislead you into thinking a song will be on the soundtrack that is not actually in the movie.I spent the entire movie expecting to hear Sheryl Crow's song.Very disappointed by that.Another example is the "K-Pax" trailer which featured "Drops of Jupiter" which was not actually used in the movie. And both "Deuce Bigelow European Gigilo" and Steve Martin's "Pink Panther" featured "Jerk It Out" in the movie trailers but not in the movie.False advertising!

I agree, it's not unfavorable, it's a beautiful dream actually. But watching it I felt like someone was somehow making fun of me. I see many people considers it a cult movie and I'm sure many love Italy just for the stereotypes shown here (mandolino, spaghetti, chianti bla bla bla). Watch some good italian movies (by Monicelli, Risi for example), someone will be able to suggest something really representative of this country; or keep on watching under the tuscan sun, noone will be seriously hurt

the movie's full of old ladies that kiss the crucifix or holy images, there's a living crib (that's really common under the sun of tuscany of course...) and they sing an italian christmas carol(summertime). Don't forget the large amount of cliche. Are you italian? i don't think so couse you wouldn't like this movie so much to deny which is its real essence: pure trash. this film is meant to be watched by americans, that's all.

Thats really nice to hear. When I lived in Italy, I recommended it to some Italians because I thought they would like how much we love their country. But then, many people told me not to do that because it is offensive and the real Francis Mayes got thrown out of Cortona because they got sick of her and the way she was portraying Italy and making other people think of Italy. Its really nice to hear the opposite!
