  • Despite the beginning being a bit fast for some, the entire piece was played very well by the whole orchestra. I enjoyed it.

  • I think it would've been nicer if there wasn't this huge long thing of them tuning...

But other than that, it sounds pretty cool. Sadly, I'm not in orchestra. :)

  • hard to here...and do we really have to hear them tuning up?

  • beggining should be nearly half the speed, that way it is REALLY dramatic like beethoven always intends.

  • I don't think you should assume which were Beethoven's intentions. We cannot say that. What I see is a tempo marking which says Adagio. To be half of the tempo as you suggested it should be written Largo.

It is common to see past mistakes creating a line of interpretation. I will always try to follow the score because that tells me more about what are Beethoven's intentions than lstening to past recordings of that work.

  • hmm well if you insist to each their own.

  • The beginning is too fast!! it should be abit slower and then gradually build up!

  • Thank you for your comment. The beginning is a Adagio which should be something in between quarter note equals 66 to 76. I did it 56, so I can't see why you think it is fast. Many other conductors they subdivide this passage, but I believe they are performing it too slow.

  • beggining is too fast, not all music is about who can play the fastest, but who can play the most beautifully.
