Really want this, as with MacBook etc - but put off by their prices. I wouldn't mind converting to Mac from PC, after being a PC user for so long. Guess would need to wait until I find a good graduate job first..
I got my iMac today. First one ever but man do I HATE this mouse. I have to move it way too much. I plugged in my logitech and won't go back. Hopefully I can ebay it.
@xyzdtl I received mine about 3 days ago, and personally I have already got used to it. I do pick up technology quickly, but I was surprised I dont even hesitate about the thin-ness now really.
@xyzdtl I just got mine today, and I have to say, you really have to adjust to the ergonomic lack in this mouse. Although it does feel very good once you get used to it (as you can see, I have already got used to mine).
sorry if this has already been asked. can you left click and right click at the same time. as i have a program that you hold left and click on right to activate a feature. i cant do this on a trackpad.
i love most mac products, and paid $75 for this mouse, but it did not work for me, it is the worst mouse i had.. i bought yesterday another one from logitech for $50 and it is working perfectly right. I am going to sell mine for $50 if anyone wants it, it is still in the box, let me know and I ship it to you!!!
Thank you for this review! I was on the fence about getting it (never sampled in a store before) but your review convinced me; we seem to look for the same thing in mice :P
Everyone who has one of these and wants more customization, go look up BetterTouchTool. I use it for my magic mouse and for adding more trackpad gestures. It's a great app and it's free. Runs in the background and stays in the upper toolbar by the other toolbar items. Go get it and support the customization. It takes this mouse from good to great. A real productivity helper. Just my two cents! Peace.
The difference is that you are only assuming I'm technically challenged. The true misfortune is the fact that you provide proof of your mentally-challenged thought process every time you post a comment.
No, it's quite clear you have a life... and a pretty challenged one at that. Re-count your comments on this video, and then re-asses the statement you just made. Even if you don't respond to this one, you're still a few up on me.
So glad about this new mouse. The old ones really pissed me off. The two buttons on the side.... I felt like pulling them off or super gluing them. I had to change my natural hand position on the mouse just to stop from clicking them every time I move the mouse. And I still sometimes click them.
It doesn't work well with PC's acutely. I have heard some say it's not compatible but I don't know for sure. Manuel says it will work if it has bluetooth, most PCs don't. And it can only click without the update, from my experience with using it with a 2008 mac book, which is only available for macs. No scrolling, swiping or zooming on a Pc. So it may not work at all with a PC, and if it does it will work sub par to a $20 dollar mouse. Not seeing any kind of reason to use it as a gaming mouse.
Dunno, I have the mouse but I am not a gamer, l was before I got mac but not anymore. I assume no from my experiences with it though. It not only has no side button or features to replace them but no middle click. You can't reassign the swipes to anything else either, so in that sense it's a standard mouse. you can adjust the tracking but not any other laser features that I know you can with mice designed for gaming mice. Also some times hard to control with its low profile
Nope it doesn't work well with PC's. I thought it may have but nope. It even takes a bit of setting up with Mac's. Which annoyed me since they pride themselves on use straight out of the box. But yeah, it wouldn't be good for gaming, much better to get a mouse with more buttons and scrollers etc. Logitech has good ones.
I wish they would make a mouse that you can make it to where you can do the equivalent of holding down both buttons at the same time.....its better for gameplay
Guys, when I'm talking about the side buttons, on Apple's old mouse it was spring loaded from the bottom. If you're holding the button down and lift the mouse up, you lose the click. You need to grip the mouse from the buttons to retain the click.
The new mouse clicks from the top like a regular mouse, so this isn't an issue. That's what I'm talking about. If you squeeze it harder, it can be used as a button, but that's not what I was talking about.
Oh. I see what you mean now. Yeah the old one does click from the bottom. But I can still click it when I hold it in the air. I just have to hold the side buttons in order for it to hold the click as you were saying.
The two side buttons on the mighty mouse are not to let the computer know that you are holding it, they are pressure buttons that you squeeze to go to exposé or dashboard or whatever you have them set up as.
I tried the magic mouse and, eh....it's ok. It's a little too low profile for my hands. I love the technology of it but hate the ergonomics.
I think you are mistaken, the side buttons on the "older" apple mouse was not for using/activating the mouse, it was just a convenience button to use expos, for example.
BTW,I got it for free with the mac.

What ? The side buttons have nothing to do with what you said. It's for expose or for what ever you decide to assign it as.
The only it lacks is support for a center click... which im personally use to.
Still thinking about getting one though... the dirty build up under the older mouse that I use is really annoying to clean out.
