Paul has the "sweetest" tone quality since Paul Desmond of The Dave Brubeck Quartet. What do you know. They have the same first name. If you have not heard Paul Desmond...check him out and you will see the similarities in tonal quality. I always try to teach a little music history when I can.
I just heard this song on the Music Choice stations on cable and so many memories came back. I would hear this song every night on 105.7 The Oasis in Dallas, TX but never knew it was. Love it!!!
By far, Paul Taylor is one of my favorite jazz musicians of all times. His music is very soothing and whenever I am feeling down and out, I just pop in one of Paul Taylor's cds and escape into the wonderful world of music.
CD 101.9 New York is it still around....does anybody know? I moved away a long time ago but that used to be my radio spot all night long til i fell asleep.
wow... I was introduced to Paul's music in Korea, I was stationed at Camp Humphreys, knew this cat who took us(me & my dude JV) riding around, he had this CD and was telling us about it, before he played one note we were intrigued, dudes name was John and I can still remember him saying, "the cover just looked wild, I dont know what made me get it, and then when I played it... here just check this out... " the first track was all it took, Pleasure Seeker is a great album.
I love jazz music ! I'm a huge Peter White, Paul Taylor, Jazzmasters and Andre Ward fan. I listen to this music when I'm writing my book for some reason it makes me focus. Love it Love it - I'm so happy a jazz club finally opened on the Jersey Shore in Asbury Park. I can be in the zone during happy hour.
this is one of my favs.. they use to play it all the time on 107.5 the osasis.. but its off the air now :( but taylor is my all time fav... you should also check out the song deeper.. its great
If Jesus and John coltrane had a baby, and Bill clinton and Charlie Parker had a baby, and by some miracle those babies met, and made sweet passionate baby love, and the product of those babies taught Benny Goodman how to play Soprano Saxophone, it would sound like this. Fucking magical !
Wow i recall the 1st time i heard this smooth tune... The feelings that came over me as i held my girlfriends hand driving down the fdr "n.y.c. "during the summer. Its mid july 90 degrees & we have no worries what so ever. Its great when you have love & jazz meshing as one. I smile as the memories flood my mind... miss those days very much...thanks for the post... Peace to all the smooth jazz lovers.
I have to admit that Paul Taylor may very well be one of the best sax players alive but Grover Washington Jr. would be hard to beat if he were still alive....RIP Grover.
I want to send this song to my girl in the Ukraine.., she'll love it!!. This is the type of music that transcends all borders, cultures and countries. It's universal
I'm 24 and love this. Growing up in NY my dad making me sit through countless car rides filled w/ CD101.9 Smooth Jazz, I hated it. Things come full circle.
Listeners of Jazz dont have a age im only 20 years old and hooked!! So it doesn't mean your gettin old because u like soothing music or upbeat funky rhythms!!!
What the fuck is wrong with me? I watched Kenny G on show time about a week ago, it ruled, and now I am seeking out this stuff. Am I getting old and lame? Or, did I just miss the memo?
The smooth jazz station here in Chicago is WNUA 95.5 FM. You can play it on the net if you can. Also google Paul Taylor and order it from his website.
That's funny because I just said that I feel supernatural when I listen to Jazz as if I could give you what ever you wanted by stapping my fingers. Lol.
I was like looking for an artist name for it now I found it finally...I loooooooouv this instrument that Paul Taylor plays. I dance to it with ma girl on it. She enjoyed it.
the instrument he is playing is a soprano sax, it is the sax of saxophones, if played right, will make the ladies throw there panties on the stages and say his name.
WOW!! I heard this song for the very first time two years ago in Tahiti! Oh my goodness - this definitely takes me back. Sensual and Exotic - I am loving it!
