@JosherBoy24 just spend time with it,treat it with respect& it will learn to trust you! it should be around people often, treated kindly&spoken softly too.Loud noises&fast movements scare them.Be calm,talk queitly,be patient.spend lots of time with it,eventually it will bond to you&feel comfortable enough to not hide in a ball.Try not to use different perfumes often,b/c they rely ALOT on smelling and may not recognize you if you have a different smell.Take it out of its cage at least once a day.

A hedgehog can NOT be tamed completely because it is NOT domesticated. But you probably do not care. well, I'm a vet. And I can tell you, cleaning your pets, wether it's a dog, a rat or even a hedgehog, is not a bad thing if you use shampoos that are made for bathing animals, or at least use those made for babys, because they are non-alergic, they can be swallowed or can get into the eyes without causing any damage. As I saw, the guy was using an ordinary human shampoo, those products can cause serious damage. Including: dermatitis and anafilactic shock. DON"T USE ORDINARY SHAMPOOS ON ANIMALS.

They simply washed in BABY shampoo (its so sensitive you could pour that crap into your eyes and it wouldn't hurt) and ran water over it. When Hedgehog's get irritated it's easy to tell. I know your first instinct when you see a cute animal is to defend it and get all angry and outraged but it's not "kind of torture!!!!!!!" If you don't bathe hedgehogs they get itchy and uncomfortable (they like to dig and get dust under their quills) they also get poop on their paws and tails. If you don't clean them they'll be uncomfortable and can get sick. ALSO, you can tell he's not mad because he's not being spikey or a ball. What he's doing in this video is happy hedgehog behavior.

I think it is a wonderful creature, and so cute it reminds me of my three month old baby boy (human), though I'd rather see this little hedgehog rummaging around in the wild having freedom. Not all hedgehogs get run over! And most of them do pretty well as nature intended.

He's a specific breed of hedgehog that was only bred for domestication. There is no scenario where he exists in the wild. He either lives with a human or he doesn't exist. And he lives with a human who takes good care of him. It's the best possible world for him.

We're litter training him, he knows to go into the little litter pan but he HATES the bedding we were using, so we're going to put a different bedding in there. He had a wheel but he's too big for it now, he needs a bigger one. He needs to be able to run or he'll get fat(ter).
