how do you know which is male and which is female? i am planning to buy these and want a pair
sup164 1 year ago
@sup164 The larger clown is the female
JbReefer 1 year ago
@sup164 as long as you buy 2 you will have a pair since the clowns change gender if you buy a trio the 3rd and smallest will have no gender but if the male or female dies the 3rd will adjust accordingly the largest is always the female

I have a small pair of either Onyx or SI, but they were sold to me as ocellaris, so I got them for $15 each! :)
I love the look of these clowns! Beautiful fish, and I love the way the female is 2 or 3 times larger than the male is!

I have a pair of those. They are still 6 months old and not even over 1" yet. In a few months they might be getting a big tank all by themselves! :D

do not the father eat dem?
zzzthormikkelzzz 2 years ago
Why would he? It's not like having guppies.
@zzzthormikkelzzz not they're very careful of the young. and the male is the smaller one, unlikely to cross the large female.
looks like hes turning emo :O with the black body and thet
( Nemo is turning Emo) ( in progress) XD

are the eggs safe in the tank with all other fish or get another tank .
adrianbmx1 2 years ago
Probably; Clown's guard their eggs really well, and other fish (except damsels) are susceptible to the amenone.
